- Conduct project review and planning
- Fuel tank and card lock repairs
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- College or post secondary education is preferred
- AWS D1.1 SMAW Certification required
- Previous experience in Heavy Truck, Automotive or related industry experience preferred
Other Skills and Abilities Required
- Ensure compliance of all OHSA regulations, as well as Rush's Heath and Safety
- Assist in development or repair estimates
- Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology, compliance and repair techniques
- Strong interpersonal skills and customer focused

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Use automated welding equipment to overlay various corrosion resistant alloys per instructions.
- Prepare, grind, clean and stencil the components product to be welded as required.
- Study all instructions and drawings to successfully setup components prior to start.
- Continually monitor all processes and record data as required for every project.
- Measure clad layer deposits against drawing requirements to ensure sufficient material clean up.
- Keep records of hours worked or logged to the job.
- Keep work area clean and safe.
- Be able to maintain an acceptance rate of 98% or higher
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Prepare components per drawing requirements dimensions on the welding parts.
- Use overhead cranes to load and unload material to required areas.
- Any other request by supervisors as required.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :
- Minimum of five years welding experience using automated (GTAW) welding equipment.
- Conscientious and determined to produce quality work.
- Ability to read and understand API and ASME related welding procedures (WPS).
- Satisfactory vision with the ability to pass visual exam.
- Good communication skills (Must be able to communicate in English).
- Experience with using large overhead cranes and safe rigging techniques.
- Interpret blueprints, routers and understand welding symbols.
- Ability to follow detailed and complex instructions.
- Prepare and understand measuring equipment.

JOB SUMMARY
This position is primarily responsible for using electrical currents to fuse metals like steel together to repair parts or build new components.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Grind barge & boat repair areas, internal compartments & cargo tanks, and external surface areas in preparation for welding.
- Weld barge & boat repair areas, internal compartments & cargo tanks, external surface areas, and specialty components & areas with the required number of passes to achieve full penetration welds.
- Operate welding & grinding equipment, blowers, hoses, etc., to accomplish weld & repair duties.
