Labor One Staffing, is looking for skilled Welders for the Ingleside, TX area. Welders to build and repair large structures and platforms.
Most fabrication will be done with Flux core. Must pass a 6GR skill test.
Job Requirement :
- Read blueprints and drawings or read plan measurements and follow layouts and procedures.
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
- Set up components of welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with power saws to match measurements).
- Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
- Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces.
- Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead).
- Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps.
- Verify your work that welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety and skills.
- Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (FCAW, STICK, etc.)
- Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, granders, squares, calipers etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
- Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing and PPE (face-shield, gloves etc.)
- Experience using cutting tools.
- Ability to measure and cut materials
- Pass 6GR Test
- Must be willing to work in heights and confined spaces.

- 6 Pipe Sch. XX , (Root / Fill / Cap) with (FCAW)

Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. is seeking a full time Welder II in San Diego, CA .
Summary : This position welds metal components together to design specifications or repair products, such as machine parts, shipboard equipment, according to layouts, blueprints or work orders, using SWRMC approved welding and brazing procedures with a variety of arc and gas welding equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Provides welding support certified in Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG), Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG) and Gas Metal Arc Welding Pulse (GMAW-P) using 5356 filler wire.
- Uses hand-welding or flame-cutting equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products.
- Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
- Ignites torches or starts power supplies and strike arcs by touching electrodes to metals being welded, completing electrical circuits.
- Clamps, holds, tack-welds, heat-bends, grinds or bolts component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.
- Detects faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisors.
- Operates manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux-cored arc, carbon arc, plasma arc, shielded metal arc, resistance welding, submerged arc welding and pipe welding.
- Ensures shop safety and housekeeping are followed
- Ensures all materials and equipment are properly and safely stored, protected, and maintained
- Reports the status and progress of all work to the government supervisor
- Alerts the government supervisor of the causes of work delays
- Monitors the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material.
- Examines work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straight edges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
- Recognizes, set ups, and operates hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.
- Lays out, positions, aligns, and secures parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.

Required Qualifications :
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 4 years work related experience
- Minimum 2 years specific experience as a qualified production welder
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DBIDS badge
- Ability to communicate verbally and electronically
- Ability to read schematics, follow detailed instructions and be self-motivated
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow detailed oral and written instructions, schematics or drawings and to conduct activities in a safe manner
- Ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)
- Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted
- Ability to qualify to SWRMC approved welding and brazing procedures

Job Description
Gap plate test in G2 through G4 positions.
Welders must show they can confidently set up welding rigs.
Flux core test, core pass and layers.
Must show they can start and stop weld path.
Must take a ceramic back tape test and weld simulation.
Fillet welds in G2 to G4 as well as a water tight collar with a tight radius.
Applies appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, or repair parts of metal or other weldable materials.
Works from blueprints, engineering sketches, charts or work orders.
Lays out and marks points on parts or subassemblies using rule, square, scribe or templates.
Positions pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools.
May inspect completed work for conformance to specifications.
Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
Pipe Welder II

Summary / Objective : Pipe Welders II join pipes. valves and fitting components as specified by layout, prints, diagrams, work orders, or verbal instructions, using hand and powered hand tools, and welding equipment.
They must be familiar with OSHA requirements for safety and hot work onboard naval vessels.
Duties include, but are not limited to :
- Successfully completion pipe welding qualification requirements using Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) in the restricted 6G position on ferrous and nonferrous materials.
- Setup and adjust various welding equipment and associated accessories.
- Ability to interpret welding symbols-based on the AWS Welding Symbols.
- Familiarity with the workmanship requirements of the following :
- MIL-STD-22, Welded Joint Design,
- S9074-AR-GIB-010 278, Requirements for Fabrication Welding and Inspection, and Casting Inspection and Repair for Machinery, Piping, and Pressure Vessels
- MIL-STD-1689A, Fabrication, Welding, and Inspection of Ships Structure.
- Ability to visually inspect fillet using a fillet weld gauge and butt or groove welds for acceptance.

Education / Experience Required :
- Must be 18 years old.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Completed a structured welding program.
- Must have a valid California driver's license.

- A plus, previous experience in a ship repair environment.
- Understand the Naval Ship Repair requirements and working environment.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work : This is a full-time position requires 40+ hours of work per week. M-F 0600 - 1430 (or as otherwise assigned by Project Manager) with pre-scheduled overtime as needed.
Work Environment : This job operates in a shipyard work environment.
Travel : This position does require ability to travel.
