DEPARTMENT : Restaurant Operations LEVEL : Front of the House
SUMMARY OF POSITION : Non-exempt, full or part-time position. Employees in this
position provide guests with service and products as quickly, conveniently,
and efficiently as possible in a friendly manner. Each server / cashier is
responsible for ensuring proper and efficient service, ensuring that each
shift contributes to the increased profitability of the restaurant using
independent decision-making. Other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES :excellent customer service before, during, and after taking orders. Greets
guests upon arrival, make eye contact, and thanks guests when leaving
Maintains
a clean dining room, patio, parking lot, etc., as assigned, in compliance
with Farmer Boys standards
Successfully
works the drive-thru window and works the phone for phone-in orders as
assigned
Properly
packages, checks, and delivers accurate orders to guests
Responsible
for the accuracy of all orders, (dine-in, to-go, and drive-thru), that are
delivered to the guest
Maintains
stock and cleanliness of required work areas as directed by the Manager in
Charge
Follows
the work schedule as posted, unless a change in the schedule is arranged with
the Manager in Charge

Ensures
all sales are processed according to policy
Informs
the Manager in Charge of all sales, cash, or operating discrepancies

Job Description :
The Server serves food and drinks following established guidelines, procedures, and policies as prescribed by company standards.
He or she interacts with guests and staff in a cordial, efficient, and professional manner and helps with seating guests, clearing and setting tables, preparing to go orders, side work, and cleaning duties.
The ideal candidate for this position has a high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma and at least one year of experience in a restaurant setting.
He or she can work a flexible schedule that includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Good written and speaking communication skills, good time management skills, and professional dress, speech, and behavior are all required for this position.

The server occupies one of the most integral functions in the restaurant. You are responsible for taking orders, maintaining the dining room, serving beverages, and helping the guest make informed decisions.

Accurately input orders into POS system.
Document all orders on a server dupe pad as a back-up record in case the POS system is ever inoperative.
Retrieve all beverages from service bar and serve promptly.
Open all wine and champagne bottles using proper wine service techniques.
Anticipate guest’s needs and respond promptly.
Acknowledge all guests regardless of whether they are in your station.
Interact in courteous and professional manner with guests, supervisors, and co-workers.
Always make guests feel you are on their side by apologizing and being proactive in resolving guest complaints.

Alert management to any and all issues that arise at a table.

Role Purpose
