Job Duties and Responsibilities

DISH is seeking an HR Employee Relations Investigator who will play a vital role in DISH’s team member and customer experience which is optimized through listening and connecting with them in vulnerable and stressful situations.

The HR Employee Relations (ER) Investigator’s primary responsibilities are to manage and lead in-depth investigations of alleged workplace violence, theft, harassment, or other potentially serious violations of policies or law.

The role also requires the ability to analyze sophisticated information, develop valid fact-based conclusions using a variety of resources and techniques, and present findings to all levels of management and leadership.

Investigators may also be deployed for special projects or initiatives.

Key responsibilities :

  • Demonstrate a strong ability to listen, care, and connect with all levels of team members to ensure they feel safe, valued, and respected.
  • Manage multiple types of ER investigations, including but not limited to workplace harassment, discrimination, retaliation, sexual misconduct, violence, and theft, among other types.
  • Conduct thorough, professional, and efficient interviews of those individuals accused of violations, witnesses, and reporting persons to obtain key facts for proper decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain a professional working relationship with diverse stakeholders including business leaders and HR business partners across the organization to facilitate a collaborative recommendation on outcomes.
  • Multitask and prioritize caseload with administrative and coaching aspects of the role.
  • Utilize case management system and other company tools and resources to document findings and evidence.
  • Craft communications, including documentation and reports, that are accurate, concise, and delivered promptly.
  • Assume control of high-stress, sensitive situations. Ensure that all investigations / inquiries are completely objective and brought to a logical conclusion.
  • Often act as a single point of contact with law enforcement in cases involving employees or customers.
  • Understand the laws and statutes that have an impact on investigations, and can make well-rounded recommendations based on this experience.
  • Meet all of DISH’s performance expectations, including but not limited to, satisfying all applicable metrics, productivity standards, goals, and advanced proficiencies related to overall performance.

Skills, Experience and Requirements

Education : A Bachelor’s Degree or higher is strongly preferred.

Experience : Two or more (2+) years in a human resources-related field is preferred.

Skills and qualifications :

  • Have the ability to be a brand ambassador who leads by example, and demonstrates DISH culture and values in both actions and words.
  • Have the acumen to incorporate HR’s Team Member Experience (TMX) framework into investigations through listening, caring, and connecting with team members.
  • Have the ability to recognize and define problems; gather sophisticated data and analyze it; establish facts; and draw valid conclusions.
  • Have unquestionable integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism in a wide variety of situations.
  • Have the ability to respond effectively to and interact with all levels of organizational staff, including executives.
  • Have excellent presentation / facilitation, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, written / oral communication, and internal and external customer service skills.
  • Ability to travel from time to time, approximately 10%.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Salary Range

Compensation : $57,400.00 / Year - $82,000.00 / Year

Job Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.

  • Prior experience with or understanding of the employee lifecycle (recruitment, onboarding, transfers, performance cycles, leaves of absence and offboarding).
  • Knowledge of both Federal and State employment-related laws and regulations. Experience with California-based employers a plus.
  • Experience working on projects focused on the enhancement of the employee journey through process improvements, automation, data & insights
  • Strong ability to handle confidential information with discretion, maturity, integrity and professionalism.
