What you’ll do :

Support the development of strategic story angles and PR initiatives that will result in standout coverage for the Expedia in the U.

S., including campaign ideation, project management, media relations strategy, development of press materials, and more

Develop and implement integrated communications plans that support Brand Expedia objectives, working closely with Expedia social media and influencer teams and the broader marketing and communications teams

Responsible for working closely with the U.S. media relations on strategy across earned, owned and paid channels within PR’s remit

Proactively identify opportunities to drive brand love for Expedia through earned media and storytelling

Responsible for maintaining PR editorial / activity calendars for Expedia U.S.

Use and analyze data and insights to inform storytelling and support business initiatives

With the global crisis team, manage reactive PR issues that influence perceptions of the brand and impact the greater Expedia Group business

Work with PR agencies and other vendors on campaign development and execution

With the North America Media Relations team, manage press trips and media events

Responsible for monitoring all industry and competitor media coverage, including development of coverage reports, drafting status reports, and providing business event progress and reports as they occur

Responsible for managing project / campaign timelines, developing workbacks and monitoring budgets

Who you are :

Proven 5+ years' experience in a media relations or PR role in a consumer agency environment

Strong experience in media relations possessing excellent understanding of media landscape, and key consumer media contacts across print, online and broadcast media outlets.

Previous experience in the travel industry is a plus

Exceptional teambuilding and interpersonal skills - including the ability to represent Expedia Group at the highest levels internally and externally

Ability to manage changing requirements as well as having outstanding project management and organizational skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

The starting salary range for this position is $75,000 - $85,000, based on education and experience.

In addition, this position qualifies for a one-time $2,500 signing bonus, paid in two installments after months 6 and 12 of employment (subject to change).
