Pediatric Psychologist Job Summary :

The Pediatric Psychologist will work within an interdisciplinary team to evaluate and treat children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders such as Developmental Delay, Intellectual Disability, ADHD, Learning Disorders, Autism, behavior disorders, and those associated with complex medical conditions.

Education, Training, Special Skills, and Licensure :

Completions of a doctorate degree (PhD / PsyD) in clinical psychology preferred, as conferred by an APA-accredited university.

Consideration may also be extended to candidates with a doctorate in counseling or school psychology.

  • Clinical internship (one year) in Pediatric Psychology or related psychology discipline (APA-accredited program highly preferred.).
  • Post-doctoral fellowship in Pediatric Psychology preferred.
  • PhD / Psy.D. in Clinical or School Psychology from an APA-accredited university
  • Current and unrestricted license (or license-eligible) from the Louisiana State Board of Examiners of Psychologists.

Job Standards and Performance Expectations

1. Clinical Activities

a. Provides direct patient care including psychological evaluations, feedback visits, psychotherapy and / or additional care management activities.

b. Communicates evaluation findings, interpretation of diagnostic tests, diagnostic impressions, and treatment recommendations in both written and verbal formats (e.

g., written reports and feedback to patients / families).

c. Provides timely feedback on evaluations and / or treatment, as appropriate, to referring providers

d. Participates in interdisciplinary staffing and other patient care coordination efforts.

e. Complies with all timelines and deadlines for documentation, etc., as outlined by department leadership.

2. Professional Development and Training

a. Participates in didactics, case conferences, seminars, rounds, and other professional development activities as assigned or requested.

b. Participates in the supervision of Psychometrists, graduate students, and / or other clinical staff or student volunteers as directed by department leadership

3. Administrative and / or Other Duties as Assigned

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION STATEMENTS Essential responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following : Essential Functions : 1.

  • Administer and interpret psychological tests and prepare related reports. 2.Administer individual student ability and achievement tests;
  • interpret results; prepare reports and conduct conferences with appropriate staff. 3.Counsel and consult with students, teachers, and parents in regard to student problems which adversely affect their educational development;

  • 5.Monitor special education programs; determine appropriateness of placements. 6.Consult and coordinate with outside agencies regarding individual cases;

Training : A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in psychology, sociology, or a related field.

  • Determine developmental disability diagnoses, particularly Intellectual Disability and Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Determine regional center eligibility based upon results of psychological testing.
  • Coordinate the provision of psychological services by contract and vendored providers
  • Provide consultation regarding behavioral and psychological issues, treatment plans and modalities for consumers

Job Requirements :

  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Psychology from an accredited University
  • Licensed in California as a clinical psychologist
  • 3+ years of responsible professional experience evaluating and diagnosing persons with developmental disabilities
  • Extensive experience with psychological evaluations
  • Expertise in reviewing psychological testing such as the WAIS-IV, WISC-V, WPPSI-IV, ADOS-2, Vineland-3, DP-3 and Leiter-3
