Position Summary

Project Manager, Planning & Redevelopment

North York General Hospital (NYGH) is continuing its planning process in anticipation of renovation and renewal of its facilities.

NYGH is seeking a person to manage the successful delivery of both large and small scale design, construction projects, handover and occupancy phases of work.

You have excellent organizational, time-management, consensus building and negotiation skills. You also have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

You have the ability to multi-task, deal with change and to coordinate resources. This position supports the Hospital’s academic mandate by advancing care through teaching and learning and / or transforming care through research and innovation.

This position contributes to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and families.

On a practical level, you will

  • Collaborate with the NYGH Planning Dept to create successful Project Implementation Plans
  • Lead project teams, including hospital staff and consultants, in the planning, design and implementation of projects in accordance with hospital requirements and applicable codes, standards, and pertinent legislation
  • Support the consultants and the hospital in seeking Municipal and Ministry of Health (MOH) project approval
  • Undertake the responsibility to make timely decisions and maintain schedule and budgets
  • Work with the support of other hospital staff to ensure that the contractor is fulfilling their contractual obligations to abide by all hospitals policies, (i.

e. Infection Prevention and Control)

  • Provide leadership and guidance to project team during all stages of the project lifecycle (Concept through Close-Out)
  • Conduct and attend project team meetings (Steering Committee, Project Working Groups)
  • Develop, tracks and maintain project documentation during all stages of the project lifecycle (Concept through Close-Out)
  • Work with contractors to ensure the safe and successful delivery of construction of the projects, with consideration for constructability, phasing, infection prevention and control and other applicable codes, standards and legislation
  • Maintain current knowledge on all project related issues regarding procurement, practices, and risks
  • Assist as required in the Request for Qualifications (RFQ), Request for Proposal (RFP), and Request for Tender (RFT) documents for consulting and construction services
  • Ensure project deliverables are met on time, within budget, scope and according contractual obligations and hospital policies
  • Prepare regular reporting on project scope, costs and schedule throughout the project lifecycle

Qualifications

  • A university degree or college diploma in engineering, architecture, project management, construction management with equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a healthcare setting in a role related to capital project planning and delivery
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing multiple simultaneous projects
  • In-depth knowledge of hospital operations and management, and health facility design preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership and consensus building skills, with a lens of strong patient / family focus
  • Highly effective interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills, combined with excellent organizational skills, with demonstrated ability to achieve outcomes
  • Strong people / project leadership skills, with ability to give feedback
  • Understanding of applicable legislation, regulations and standards, i.e. Ontario Building Code, CSA Z8000
  • Understanding of Ministry of Health and Long-term Care Capital Approvals Process
  • Experience with the planning, design and construction of Long Term Care Homes would be an asset
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation would be an asset
  • Proficient in computers and Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Project, Adobe Acrobat
  • Bilingualism in French / English an asset

Position Summary

Project Manager, Planning & Redevelopment

North York General Hospital (NYGH) is continuing its planning process in anticipation of renovation and renewal of its facilities.

NYGH is seeking a person to manage the successful delivery of both large and small scale design, construction projects, handover and occupancy phases of work.

You have excellent organizational, time-management, consensus building and negotiation skills. You also have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

You have the ability to multi-task, deal with change and to coordinate resources. This position supports the Hospital’s academic mandate by advancing care through teaching and learning and / or transforming care through research and innovation.

This position contributes to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and families.

On a practical level, you will

  • Collaborate with the NYGH Planning Dept to create successful Project Implementation Plans
  • Lead project teams, including hospital staff and consultants, in the planning, design and implementation of projects in accordance with hospital requirements and applicable codes, standards, and pertinent legislation
  • Support the consultants and the hospital in seeking Municipal and Ministry of Health (MOH) project approval
  • Undertake the responsibility to make timely decisions and maintain schedule and budgets
  • Work with the support of other hospital staff to ensure that the contractor is fulfilling their contractual obligations to abide by all hospitals policies, (i.

e. Infection Prevention and Control)

  • Provide leadership and guidance to project team during all stages of the project lifecycle (Concept through Close-Out)
  • Conduct and attend project team meetings (Steering Committee, Project Working Groups)
  • Develop, tracks and maintain project documentation during all stages of the project lifecycle (Concept through Close-Out)
  • Work with contractors to ensure the safe and successful delivery of construction of the projects, with consideration for constructability, phasing, infection prevention and control and other applicable codes, standards and legislation
  • Maintain current knowledge on all project related issues regarding procurement, practices, and risks
  • Assist as required in the Request for Qualifications (RFQ), Request for Proposal (RFP), and Request for Tender (RFT) documents for consulting and construction services
  • Ensure project deliverables are met on time, within budget, scope and according contractual obligations and hospital policies
  • Prepare regular reporting on project scope, costs and schedule throughout the project lifecycle

Qualifications

  • A university degree or college diploma in engineering, architecture, project management, construction management with equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a healthcare setting in a role related to capital project planning and delivery
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing multiple simultaneous projects
  • In-depth knowledge of hospital operations and management, and health facility design preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership and consensus building skills, with a lens of strong patient / family focus
  • Highly effective interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills, combined with excellent organizational skills, with demonstrated ability to achieve outcomes
  • Strong people / project leadership skills, with ability to give feedback
  • Understanding of applicable legislation, regulations and standards, i.e. Ontario Building Code, CSA Z8000
  • Understanding of Ministry of Health and Long-term Care Capital Approvals Process
  • Experience with the planning, design and construction of Long Term Care Homes would be an asset
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation would be an asset
  • Proficient in computers and Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Project, Adobe Acrobat
  • Bilingualism in French / English an asset

The Principle, Project Manager reports to the Portfolio Project Management Executive

You Will :

On any given day, as a Principle, Project Manager, you might :

Develop the integrated project delivery strategy, ensure team understanding, and lead the team in delivering in accordance with the defined strategies;

periodically reassess strategies for effectiveness and change course when needed

Establish a project culture of proactive change and risk management in addition to leading the implementation, and ensuring the health of these programs

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $145,666.00 to $199,430.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

Biology Project Manager Duties :

The Biology Project Manager responsibilities include managing biological resources-related projects, leading biological technical report preparation in accordance with agency requirements, and serving as biological resources lead during environmental review of projects by the appropriate jurisdictions and agencies.

The position also will include resource agency consultation and permitting, client coordination, and preparation of proposals and related business development activities.

The ideal candidate must possess strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills because critical aspects of this position include developing solutions for project challenges, forging strong, collaborative relationships, and building consensus among team members, clients, and agencies (please give some examples in cover letter).

The Biology Project Manager may be required to conduct biological fieldwork on occasion; however, primary responsibilities are not fieldwork related.

Pay will be based on qualifications and / or experience, with a robust benefits package. Expected starting pay range of $75,000 to $95,000 annually.

Minimum Requirements for Biology Project Manager :

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in an environmental science, biology or related field ( degree in biochemistry or microbiology not acceptable ).
  • Minimum 5 years’ demonstrated experience in the environmental field carrying out biological resources or similar projects as a consultant or agency staff member.
