Responsibilities
Provide physical therapy services to patients / clients who have impairments, functional limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease, or other cause;
Provides prevention and wellness services, including screenings and health promotion.
1. Develop and update appropriate plan of care in collaboration with the patient / family and related to the persons age and lifestyle with measurable long and short term goals and a defined D / C plan Understand the role of physical therapy in the context of the patients age, total needs perspective and environment.
2. Perform age appropriate competency skills in area of practice and with respect to individual patient problems. Follow intervention protocols and alter plan of care appropriately.
Discharge patient when goals have been met or medical necessity is no longer warrants intervention. Establish provisions and / or make recommendations.
3. Consistently meet patient care productivity standard as established for job classification. Work cooperatively with supervisors and peers to contribute to the overall productivity of the team.
Utilize support personnel as appropriate and available. Actively support and participate in patient coverage efforts across all divisions within the department as necessary.
4. Promotes and Supports positive and professional customer service, while interacting with clients, guests and hospital personnel.
Works collaboratively with all members of the interdisciplinary team, other departments and disciplines to assure patients and customer’s needs are met in a timely manner.
Encourages the active participation of the patient and / or family in goal setting and patient / family training / education.
5. Provides positive and constructive feedback to enhance departmental operations. Completes all necessary documentation as outlined by departmental policy and documentation review.
This includes, but is not limited to, patient care charting, charge entry, completing peer chart and peer reviews, and documenting on daily schedule.
6. Utilizes available information management systems to support departmental and hospital goals. This includes utilization of hospital wide e-mail, information announcements, policies, annual computer mandatories, charge entry, and accessing patient care related information.
Access and use of information will meet hospital and information management guidelines.
Qualifications
Education and Licensure Required
- Degree in Physical Therapy
- State Licensure in Physical Therapy (PT)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with American Heart Association
- Graduates eligible for licensure will be considered

This job is working full-time (32-40 hours) normally scheduled as 8-hour workdays, Monday - Friday; however, additional hours may be required due to increase in workload, assignment, and completion of special projects.
Must be flexible if required to work long or irregular hours. Speaking Spanish is a bonus!
Compensation of the Physical Therapist
$37 - $45 per hour based on experience.
Responsibilities of the Outpatient Physical Therapist
Provide quality outpatient physical therapy services to all ages
Evaluate and assess your patients to establish functional, measurable goals that promote restoration of functional abilities.
Advise and consult with the family and / or other caregivers as indicated to promote the client's level of progress toward mutually agreed upon goals and plan for discharge.
Participate in educating the client and the family or other caregivers to promote the client's progress toward mutually agreed upon goals.
Use EMR to document evaluations, daily treatment notes, attendance records, patient education, outcomes, discharge notes, and charges.
Requirements of the Physical Therapist
Minimum of one year of physical therapy experience
Experience with high volume of direct access patients and an emphasis on manual therapy a plus, but not required
Orthopedic outpatient or Private Practice experience preferred.
Doctorate Degree in physical therapy (Required)
Texas Physical Therapy license (Required)
Basic life support (BLS) / CPR certification (Required)
Advanced Certifications a plus, but not required : OCS, Cert. SMT, Cert DN, Dip. Osteopractic, Graston Technique, CSCS, TSAC-F

Job Summary and Qualifications
To provide physical therapy patient care based on Physical evaluation / assessment that is appropriate for patient's needs and medical condition.
Performs Admission, and ongoing Assessments related to patient's condition and / or plan of care. The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department treats inpatients in the following areas : Acute Care, ICU, Rehab, TCU, Orthopedics, NICU, and Wound Care.
Our Inpatient Wound Care treats both acute and chronic wounds.Patient Population Served : Both male and female patients of all ages from birth to older adults.
Hours of Operation : Inpatient services are available Sunday through Saturday from 8 : 00am to 4 : 30pm.The department is closed on the following holidays : New Year's Day, Christmas, and Thanksgiving Day.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED :
Work Experience : - Work requires a professional level of knowledge acquired through the completion of an accredited Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate in Physical Therapy, in order to perform Physical Therapy evaluations, and design and implement treatment programs.
New graduates and experience therapist are eligible for hire.License / Registration / Certification : - Current Texas License - Physical Therapy- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support certification is required.
Education & Training : - Graduates of an accredited Bachelor of Physical Therapy degree program, Master of Physical Therapy program (PT, MS, PT, MPT) or a Doctorate program (DPT or PhD, PT) are eligible for hire.
- One year experienced preferred but new graduate will be accepted.Skills : - Technical, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills relevant to area in order to effectively communicate with physicians, health team members, patients and families.
