The Occupational Therapist2 evaluates patients and helps them improve basic motor functionsand reasoning abilities. The Occupational Therapist 2 workassignments are varied and frequently require interpretation andindependent determination of the appropriate courses ofaction.

Responsibilities

Asa Home Health OccupationalTherapist , youwill :

Assess / screen patient's dailyliving / work-related skills and develop therapeutic retrainingprograms with measurable objectives.

Administer and interpretdiagnostic and prognostic tests of function to patients in theirhomes or other settings to assist the physician in evaluating thepatient’s level of function.

  • Confer with thepatient's physician and other health care team members andparticipate in development / revision of the Plan of CareTreatment.
  • Provide therapeutic treatment andinstruction to patients in accordance with physician orders toimprove / restore strength, coordination, range-of-motion andfunction or teach compensationmeasures.
  • Review / expand the retraining programsin a manner consistent with the behavioral goals of each patientand within the guidelines of the rehabilitation program as awhole.
  • Consult with other vocational teammembers, as appropriate, to develop and implement vocationallyoriented plans consistent with the needs and capabilities ofpatients.
  • Report patient status and progress tothe physician, rehabilitation staff, Clinical Manager, patient andfamily members.
  • Participate in carecoordination and discharge planning activities and act as aresource to other health care personnel in meeting patient'sneeds.
  • Design community reintegrationactivities to assist the client in the physical reconditioningeffort, and / or the psychological adjustment and coordinate the planwith members of the interdisciplinaryteam.
  • Recommend and / or design special adaptiveequipment for clients to improve residence or working environmentsor improve their participation in the rehabilitation program and / orcommunity.
  • Design / train staff and familymembers to carry out the retraining program including dressing,feeding, grooming and hygiene skills, participate in team andfamily educationalmeetings.
  • Coordinate / oversee / supervise / instructand evaluates Occupational Therapy Assistant and Home Health Aideperformance in implementing occupational therapyservices.
  • Accurately and thoroughly documentpatients' care observations, interventions and evaluation on theday services are rendered.

Ensure that interim (verbal)orders received from the physician are accurately documented andimplemented. Submit evaluation, treatment plans and dischargesummary to the supervisor and care managementstaff.

RequiredExperience / Skills :

  • Degreefrom an accredited Occupational TherapyProgram
  • A minimum of six months of occupationaltherapy experience preferred
  • Home Healthexperience a plus
  • Current and unrestricted OTlicensure
  • Current CPRcertification
  • Good organizational andcommunication skills
  • This role requires fullCOVID-19 vaccination

The compensation range below reflects agood faith estimate of starting base pay for full time employmentat the time of posting in Seattle, Washington.
