Job Summary

The Medical Assistant will be part of the Tuberculosis Clinic which is one of four clinics within the Public Health Institute at Denver Health.

This position will work primarily in clinics in schools and occasionally in outreach settings. This is a Monday-Friday position 8-5.

Under general supervision, assists provider including all back office duties. Provides nursing support with various functions such as;

invasive procedures, medication administration, performing appointment and registration scheduling functions. Assists the RN with clinical clerical functions.

Ensures smooth work and patient flow within the clinic.

Essential Functions :

Knowledge of medical office practice. Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures. Knowledge of and the ability to use medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.

Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. Skill in assisting in a variety of treatments as directed.

Building long-term relationships with your patients who are suffering from end-stage renal disease and are receiving treatment on average 3 times / week.

You will also be responsible for educating patients on Kidney Dialysis related topics.

Team. Cross-functional team of clinicians including technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers, and leadership. PCTs work under the supervision of an RN.
