Job Summary

Under general supervision, interprets either over the phone, on video in a call center setting, or in person for medical staff and for limited English proficiently patients and their families requiring language assistance.

Interpreters follow policies & procedures including the ethical codes that protect the confidentiality of information. Accurately interprets both the content and the spirit of the communication without adding, omitting, editing, or changing the information.

Interpreters will seek clarification as needed. Expertise with medical terminology and vocabulary strongly preferred. Medical Interpreter experience strongly preferred.

Essential Functions :

Interpreter remains as the voice of the provider and patient only. (15%)

  • Demonstrates communication skills, working knowledge of anatomy, medical terms related to diagnoses, procedures, medical interventions and symptoms by accurately conveying information between the patient and the care provider. (15%)
  • All interpretations can be done via phone, video, or face to face, with exceptional customer service. (15%)
  • Practices interpretations in a manner complying with the Medical Interpreter Code of Ethics. Professional boundaries and patient confidentiality are maintained. (15%)
  • Works under pressure and remains calm and polite in difficult provider / patient situations. (15%)
  • Excellent phone etiquette, and timeliness in routinely responding to interpretation requests within 15 minutes. (15%)
  • Identifies and addresses learning needs through in-service attendance, reading and other education opportunities. (5%)
  • Establishes and maintains effective, professional working relationships with callers, patients, clients, staff, and the public. (5%)

Education :

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must be fluent in English and Spanish and pass a medical interpreter assessment test.

Work Experience :

1-3 years of language interpreter or language teaching experience required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Fully fluent in English and Spanish and pass a Medical Interpreter assessment test (Required).
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Exceptional timeliness in routinely responding to interpretation requests.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Epic EMR experience (Preferred).
  • Knowledge of call center technology.

Job Summary

Under close supervision, serves customers by answering incoming calls utilizing Denver Health and Departmental policies / processes to resolve customer requests and directing calls to the appropriate area when necessary.

Responsible for effectively screening / identifying customer requirements and taking appropriate action based on this information.

Provides assistance to Denver Health staff by collecting demographic, medical complaint and key information required to facilitate appropriate patient care and call resolution.

Completes computerized patient scheduling, collection of comprehensive demographic and insurance information required to facilitate timely and accurate billing of services, obtainment of pre certification authorization and benefit information necessary for payment

Essential Functions :

Answers all calls in a courteous, respectful and helpful manner utilizing interpretation services to facilitate customer communications;

performs information lookups using all sources of data to provide rapid, accurate call resolution. Fulfills internal and external customer requests by clarifying desired information, utilizing Denver Health resources to complete transactions, forwarding requests when appropriate. (20%)

  • Understands standardized scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellation guidelines. Schedules to appropriate provider according to patient request, provider direction, and availability according to preset approved scheduling guidelines.
  • 12. Maintains continuity of work operations by documenting and communicating actions, completes activity reports and communications upon request for various Departmental functions and initiatives;

keeps equipment operational by following established procedures and reporting malfunctions. (20%)

Determines requirements by working with customers; answers inquiries by clarifying desired information, researching, locating and providing information;

taking action based on this information either to resolve the customer’s request or transfer appropriately. (15%)

Job Summary

Under general supervision uses institutional, federal and sponsor-defined guidelines to support development, review and analyze sponsored program and research proposals and awards for budgetary and administrative concerns.

Uses guidelines to assist investigators in preparation of sponsored program and research project proposals. Analyst is responsible for development of budget in coordination with program staff and in accordance with sponsor guidelines.

Serves as support resource to Department Administrators (DA) and Principal Investigators (PI) on proposal submissions and renewals to the Sponsored Programs and Research Office (SPARO) on behalf of Ambulatory Care Services / Community Health Services (ACS / CHS).

Essential Functions :

  • Provides financial support, including developing budgets and drafts portions of the budget justifications for proposals and renewals insuring that cost for the projects are covered and appropriate fringe benefit rates and indirect cost rates are used based on DH policies and sponsor guidelines. (10%)
  • Works with ancillary departments (pharmacy, laboratory, nursing, etc.) to ensure their respective costs / charges are captured within internal and sponsor budgets for the application.

Obtains budget and study approval from ancillary departments as needed. (10%)

Assist in the coordination of other documents or information required as part of the proposal. Activities may include review of documents, reformatting, providing standard institutional information, etc.

Reviews and modifies all sections for adherence to formatting, page limits, and overall presentation and completion prior to submission. (10%)

  • Supports the PI in submission of other required documents to insure the information is organized and submitted to SPARO Analyst as needed. (10%)
  • Achieves a thorough understanding of the grant process once it has been awarded, including approval of expenses, and reporting requirements. (10%)
  • Pre-award processes : Reviews, analyzes and assists Principal Investigator / Program Coordinator in pre-award functions, which include, but are not limited to the following : (10%)
  • Ensuring compliance with sponsor regulations and RPF guidelines, and DH policies and procedures. (10%)
  • Develops and / or reviews complex budgets for sponsored programs applications and continuing renewals, including clinical trials, for accuracy and compliance with program-specific requirements. (10%)
  • Supports Department Administrators (DA) and Principal Investigators (PI) with Cayuse proposal input and reviews prior to submission.
  • Trains in input / processes as needed. Supports internal pre-submission process and routes proposal documents for appropriate institutional approvals;

  • Supports Manager Grants and Contracts (CHS) in the fiscal management and monitoring of projects. Includes but is not limited to the following : (5%)
  • Assist with reviews and approves financial transactions, including purchase and payment requests, patient stipends, and purchase order releases for accuracy and compliance with sponsor regulations and DH policies and procedures. (5%)
  • Researches, analyzes and reconciles accounts on a timely basis, maintaining supporting documentation. (5%)

  • Experience with industry sponsored research is highly desirable.

  • Familiarity with federal, state and sponsor regulations, guidelines and policies as related sponsored program and research administration.
  • Good communication and time management skills, ability to initiate and participate in problem resolution, ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Excel for the development of budget spreadsheets and other financial reports. This includes the ability to utilize formulas effectively, and format in a presentable, professional manner.
  • Familiarity with grants.gov application submission process, as well as other electronic application formats.

Job Summary

The Medical Assistant will be part of the Tuberculosis Clinic which is one of four clinics within the Public Health Institute at Denver Health.

This position will work primarily in clinics in schools and occasionally in outreach settings. This is a Monday-Friday position 8-5.

Under general supervision, assists provider including all back office duties. Provides nursing support with various functions such as;
