ABOUT THE POSITION Riverside University Health System (RUHS) seeks an Assistant Medical Records Manager who will be assigned to their Medical Records unit, located in Riverside.
The incumbent in this position will have working experience with the Release of Information and Chart Analysis in an acute hospital setting with Behavioral / Mental Health records.
The Assistant Medical Records Manager will also be tasked with evaluating the progress, and working performance of staff, organizing, coordinating, and directing the HIM department, more specifically in the Release of Information, chart completion, analysis, chart scanning, and document integrity.
Additionally, the incumbent will review, revise, and create policies and procedures, as well as develop, and implement training to ensure the most efficient methods of completing tasks.
Provide technical guidance to staff on difficult and complex situations, answer correspondence, insurance claims, legal requests, and chart completion functions.
Act as a liaison with other hospital departments, county departments, and / or external areas on various projects to ensure the accurate flow of information in their clinically integrated network.
Provide a variety of detailed statistical reports to management and staff.

- Assists in organizing, coordinating, and directing the activities of the Medical Records Department at RCRMC and the Department of Mental Health.
- Reviews and evaluates policies and procedures for the Medical Records Department in relation to the overall hospital goals;
in coordination with the Medical Records Manager and subordinate supervisors.

analyzes and prepares a variety of detailed statistical reports. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OPTION I License of Certificate : Current registration as a Registered Records Administrator with the American Health Information Management Association.
OPTION II License / Certificate : Current accreditation as a Registered Health Information Technician with the American Health Information Management Association.
AND Experience : Two years of experience performing health information management responsibilities equivalent to a Medical Records Technician in a medical records department of a hospital or health care agency.
OR OPTION III License / Certificate : Evidence of enrollment in an accredited course as a Registered Health Information Technician approved by the American Health information Management Association.
Incumbents are required to complete and receive registration twelve months from the date of hire.
Failure to secure said registration will result in incumbents being terminated prior to the end of their probationary period.
Experience : Three years experience performing health information management responsibilities equivalent to a Medical Records Technician which must have included a minimum of one year of supervisory / lead position in a Medical Records Department of a hospital or health care agency.
- Knowledge of : The International Classification of Diseases (current revision); Diagnostic Related Group (DRG) coding applications;
- the principles and techniques of supervision, staff utilization and training; principles and practices involved in medical records management;

Medical Assistant
To assist physicians and professional nursing staff in providing care and treatment of patients. Assist front office staff as needed in patient registration, appointments, and record keeping.
To maintain and clean equipment, keep an inventory of supplies, and be responsible for ordering supplies.
The budgeted hourly range for the Medical Assistant is $23.57 to $29.27. We base placement within these ranges on the individual's qualifications as they relate to this position.

Overview
As a member of the outpatient Bariatric health care team the Medical Assistant will work directly with the clinic team under the direct supervision of the Bariatric Clinic Coordinator, the Registered Nurse Bariatric Program Manager and / or the physician to support and ensure efficient operation of the Bariatric Clinic.
Responsibilities
The MA will support staff and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication.
While caring for patients in an outpatient clinic setting will work to promote a safe, comfortable environment that fosters the physiological and psychosocial well-being of the patient.
Check-in patients, measure and document patient weight and vital signs. Conduct patient interview and document basic medical history.
Give instructions to patients as instructed by physician. Organize and schedule appointments.
Qualifications
1 year experience in outpatient setting, Bariatric specialty preferred. Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant in the State of California.
Current BLS certification. Strong organizational skills to maintain effective and timely patient flow. Strong time-management skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
