Skilled at building trust and relationships and deepening communication between members and providers. Must be bilingual with fluency in both English and Spanish with excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must pass a Spanish proficiency examination prior to hire. Computer and data entry experience required, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office products (to include Word, Excel, and Office).
Ability to work well without direct supervision, independently and productively. Must be highly detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
Preferred : Associates or Bachelors degree in business, healthcare, human services / development, or closely related field preferred Critical thinking skills, the ability to think in an organized and rational manner in order to understand connections between ideas and / or facts A passion for serving others with the ability to be empathetic and the desire to go above and beyond to help resolve members questions at the first point of contactCertification / Licensure : CHW within 180 days of employment.

What you will do :
- Anticipate and support the needs and preferences of the Provider(s) and patients by managing daily patient flow and acting as a constant liaison between the Provider(s) and patients.
- Monitor clinical messages by effectively communicating information to the Provider(s) and relaying associated responses back to patients.
- Organize, clean, and prepare exam, procedure, and recovery rooms before and after each patient.
- Take and record patients’ vitals, noting any changes or areas of concern.
- Complete documentation for patient charts by obtaining diagnostic studies (e.g., labs, X-rays, path reports, etc.); reviewing current medications, dosage, and dosage schedule;
noting any allergies; and recording Provider(s’) orders and prescriptions.
Provide patients with any needed discharge / follow-up instructions, educational brochures, and dietary requirements
What we require :
- A high school degree or equivalent education and training.
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program OR completion of EMT-B training courses or above, required. CMA and / or RMA certifications are strongly preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of clinical Medical Assistant experience, preferably in a specialty practice.
- Knowledge of and experience with EMR and / or Electronic Practice Management systems and technologies

EXPERIENCE :

- Medical Assistant Certification NCRMA certification / ABR required. Acceptable certifications are RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA, or OE credentials is acceptable OR
- Medical Assistants who recently graduated (within the last 12 months) from a Medical Assisting training program must obtain Medical Assistant certification within 60 days of employment. OR

- Provides complete documentation of medication refusals and incidents. Communicates
medication refusal and incidents to primary care provider or Clinical Director as appropriate.
- Reports errors in administration using appropriate format (occurrence screens).
- Assist pharmacist or other appropriate staff member in a variety of pharmacy related activities, included but not limited to : storage and inventory of pharmacy supplies.
- Completes medication inventory. Maintains accurate inventory of all needles, syringes, and controlled substances.
- Other Medical Assistant duties as assigned.
Qualifications of Medical Assistant :
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Office Assistant or Medical Nursing Assistant program.
- Must have a valid certification
- At least 1 year of experience.
- Current BLS certification.
