Our client is looking for someone who’s passionate about building the brand that inspires their global community of users to do what they love.

As a Brand Designer, you’ll be responsible for crafting beautiful experiences within the Brand Creative Team at Pinterest.

They pride ourselves in finding simplicity, structure and meaning in a complex and ever-evolving product ecosystem. On a day to day basis, you’ll collaborate with an extraordinary team to design inspiring editorial content for users and businesses while also driving new sign-ups.

The work will focus on web, email, and performance marketing, combining an exquisite eye for detail with speed and efficiency.

Location : 100% Remote - must sit in PST timezone

Pay Rate : Up to $65 / hr depending on experience

What You'll Do :

  • Work through complex design problems to create beautiful editorial solutions within the web, social and email space
  • Think and design laterally across key communications channels
  • Design at a systems level, where components can be re-used and built to scale, optimized across different screen sizes and devices
  • Single-handedly develop pixel-perfected graphic assets and images
  • Iterate quickly and communicate ideas across various levels of fidelity, with the ability to receive feedback constructively as well as provide feedback to other’s work
  • Collaborate effectively with engineering teams, cross-functional partners (like Marketing, Insights, Analytics, and Product Design), as well as with Creative leadership

Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 4+ years of industry experience
  • Demonstrable experience in concepting and delivering complex design solutions
  • Exceptional attention to detail. You master craft, composition, imagery, typography, iconography and color
  • Strong editorial design skills. You have an eye for photography selection and combining imagery
  • On top of current cultural trends. You follow the latest news in design, music, art fashion and tech
  • Talent for articulating ideas. You command the room when presenting your work to cross-functional teams and executives.

You have excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills

  • Experience working quickly and efficiently. You are keeping up with the pace in a lightning-fast startup environment and have the ability to address and prioritize multiple projects at once
  • Master of design tools. You are fluent with Figma & Adobe Suite.
  • After Effects skills are appreciated but not required

DEFINITION

Coordinate, organize, and implement delivery of marketing materials related to recreation and social services to the citizens of Danville in accordance with program objectives set forth by the Recreation, Arts, and Community Services Department.

Perform professional duties such as copywriting and scheduling to assist, coordinate, and implement Department and Town’s branding and communication efforts.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Receives direction from a Program Supervisor. Exercises supervision over Program Assistants and other program personnel, as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Essential duties may include, but are not limited to, the following :

  • Schedule and coordinate the communications and outreach functions for the Department, including working with program staff and communications staff to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Manage the data gathering and production process of the quarterly activity guide, including the proofing schedule, gathering content, and working with staff to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Develop and update content for the department’s digital presence, including website, social media platforms, and outgoing correspondence.
  • Write content for public communications, including newsletters, flyers, brochures, posters, banners, press releases, and social media posts.
  • Organize and maintain photos and videos for department programs and activities, including tracking photography needs for upcoming outreach and ensuring digital files are organized.
  • Conduct and attend various training seminars, staff meetings, and community meetings.
  • Develop department informational, educational, and outreach materials and activities as requested, including internal training documents and attending events.
  • Receive project and / or issue direction from Department Director or Designee, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of :

  • Basic digital photography skills (with DSLR or smartphone equipment).
  • Modern office methods, procedures, organization, and equipment, including automation hardware and software.
  • Internet skills, including use of social media

Ability to :

  • Develop messages for marketing across print and digital media.

Experience :

Two (2) years full-time or four (4) years part-time related professional experience in communications, public relations, or marketing work in a team environment or any equivalent combination of education or experience.

Background knowledge or experience in municipal parks and recreation is desirable.

Education :

Equivalent to completion of an Associate’s Degree and / or advanced experience in communications, public relations, or marketing.

A Bachelor’s degree is desirable.

LICENSE(S) AND CERTIFICATION(S)

Possession of a valid California State Driver's License or license in another state with the ability to obtain a California license within 30 days of hire.

First Aid and CPR certification is required but may be obtained during probationary period.
