Our long-term client relationship with NASA has led to a need for a Logistics Supervisor on the Human Space Flight Technical Integration (HSFTIC) contract at Johnson Space Center (Houston, TX).

Responsibilities

The Logistics Supervisor will :

  • Manage the Mission Planning & Integration (MP&I) Logistics Team who are responsible for Visiting Vehicle Cargo Integration and Manifesting.
  • Establish and implement short and long-range organizational goals, objectives, and strategic plans by monitoring and evaluating programmatic, operational, and cost effectiveness.
  • Analyze complex problems, interpret organizational needs, and develop integrated and innovative solutions to meet the needs of the Program while increasing efficiency with day-to-day processes.
  • Conduct cross program integration activities to find best practices across all Human Spaceflight programs and implement them.
  • Track and report actual costs to allocated organizational budget and provides recommendations on how to decrease cost and increase performance output.
  • Provide Project Management and leadership for projects within the team.
  • Provide team growth, team building, personnel management, and mentoring for the organization.
  • Provide paths for career growth and mentorship for team members.
  • Perform mid-year employee evaluations and yearly performance appraisals to assess employees’ execution of planned products and services.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

Required Education / Experience / Skills :

  • BS / BA degree or higher in STEM or Management from an accredited college or university, plus seven (7) years of professional experience, performing professional work in management, operations or systems integration.
  • Progressive leadership roles and responsibilities demonstrated through experience base.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and target clear and concise message to the appropriate audience.
  • Ability to resolve problems, interpret policies, and demonstrate solid knowledge of contract requirements, processes, and procedures to support both technical and administrative contract operation.

This position also works with the carriers and customers to address customer queries.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Log internal and external customer orders into the ERP system and spreadsheets.
  • Create shipping documents in ERP and carriers' system.
  • Coordinates pick up appointments with carriers and 3PL warehouses.
  • Work closely with freight companies to ensure that orders are processed and shipped correctly.
  • Processes claims for damaged / lost shipments timely with carriers.

Position Summary :

To provide logistics support for new bids by owning activities such as reviewing and providing comments on Incoterms and providing budgetary estimates.

Key Accountabilities Essential Functions
