A GE9X Flight Test Specialist position is currently available at Seattle, Washington. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and documenting detailed process descriptions for engine hardware installation and hardware changes.
In addition, the Flight Test Specialist will provide day to day technical assistance to groups of engineers, mechanics, and program coordinators from a technical perspective.
Principle Responsibilities :
- Represent GE by working with the customer, Boeing, while maintaining a professional and expeditious work environment with a primary focus on quality and safety.
- Represent GE at Boeing Flight Test related meetings.
- Provide configuration oversight for changes and specialist information regarding various configurations across the test engines.
- Maintain and assure the airworthiness of the Compliance engines throughout the Flight Test program.
- Ensure that the configuration of the flight test propulsion systems is always known
- Ensure that the logistics specialist is aware of all parts and equipment requirements.
- Identify problems with the maintenance manuals and suggest corrections where necessary.
- Review, correct and approve assigned Flight Test General Procedures (FTGPs), Flight Test Service Instructions (FTSIs), and Field Engineering Instructions (FEIs).
In some cases, support on authoring of these documents will also be required.
- Report and maintain FTSI and FTGP status via electronic log.
- Coordinate the execution of maintenance tasks (FTSIs + FTGPs) with Boeing.
- Help troubleshoot fault messages and pilot squawks and assist with Issue Finding documentation as required.
- Provide consultation to Boeing for the installation of the Flight Test propulsion systems.
- Ensure routine M&I activities are performed at the correct intervals as required
- Supervise, inspect and sign-off on assigned work performed on the flight test propulsion systems as required.
- Perform Maintenance and Inspection (M&I) plan tasks and FTSIs as required. This includes modifications to both engine hardware and engine software.
- Assist the production team with Field Engineering Instructions (FEI) implementation and general flight line activities.
- On a few occasions, participate in flight tests as a member of the Aircraft Flight Test crew
Qualifications :
- Preferred Bachelor"s degree or equivalent experience in relevant engineering discipline.
- FAR 25 certification requirements pertinent to turbo fan engines.
- Engine configuration change background.
- Operational understanding of maintenance task procedures and background program experience associated with development of tasks.
- Flight test experience as a crewmember is desired but not essential.
- Gas turbine maintenance procedures, including borescope.
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
- Experience with Acrobat (or equivalent PDF editors).
- Aircraft maintenance procedures.
- Airframe & Powerplant certification (A&P) is preferred but not required.
The pay range for this role is 47 / hr to $52 / hr; however, Belcan considers several factors when
extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's
work experience, education / training, and key skills.
