The Research Finance Operations (RFO) department is seeking a Research Finance Administrator III to oversee the daily operational activities of the National Defense Research Institute (NDRI) FFRDC, including interactions with NDRI’s sponsoring office, research project tracking and providing support and guidance for the internal and external clients of the research division.
This position will report to the Director of Operations for the National Security Research Division (NSRD) and will provide assistance to the four NSRD program management teams in support of the National Defense Research Institute.
Duties include, but are not limited to :
Function as the lead operational point of contact for NDRI and the NDRI contract, which includes, but is not limited to, overseeing the coordination approval process for NDRI project descriptions, tracking of project status on the NDRI Project Status Report (PSR) spreadsheet and overseeing the OSD Research Support portfolio
Serve as an interface between RAND and the Department of Defense (DoD) staff responsible for the development, funding and modification of NDRI project descriptions.
Oversee division-wide processes and provide guidance to the staff who implement them, to ensure that NDRI projects comply with all regulatory requirements, to include Human Subjects, licenses, conflict of interest and security review.
Oversee the sponsor evaluation process for NDRI research projects, the development of the annual NDRI project report, the annual report on non-FFRDC research conducted at RAND and the execution report as specified in the NDRI contract.
Provide financial support ( opening up project tracking numbers, tracking discretionary spending, etc) to the Director of Operations
Provide back up and support to non-NDRI staff as needed.

JOB SUMMARY :
The Finance Assistant will provide administrative and operational support to ensure smooth financial operations. This individual will work closely with our finance team, assisting in various financial tasks and contributing to the overall financial well-being of the organization.
