JOB OVERVIEW The IRC in Denver seeks a Finance Coordinator to joining its growing staff of professionals working every day to support refugees and other immigrants in the Denver metro area.

As a member of the Finance team, the Finance Coordinator is responsible for essential accounting functions related to accounts payable and accounts receivable, monthly tasks and closing assistance, and various reports to donors and HQ.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting directly to the Senior Finance Coordinator. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure office and donor compliance with IRC’s accounting policies vis-à-vis fund accounting as noted in IRC’s finance manual and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and donor requirements.
  • Ensure timely submission of high-quality finance reports, working closely with management, programs, and finance teams.
  • Maintain a broad and deep understanding of donor policies, regulations, and procedures.
  • Support efforts to train program team members and build working knowledge of finance policies and practices that intersect with their roles.
  • Support day-to-day financial activities, including tasks such as payment request review, AP activities, AR reporting / invoicing, etc.
  • Review all accounting transactions to ensure proper coding, complete month-end / year-end closing tasks, and conduct variance analysis as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly billing.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Formal accounting or bookkeeping training and / or coursework required; 4-year degree in related field strongly preferred.
  • 3 + years professional work experience with accounting and bookkeeping procedures and standards.
  • Previous non-profit agency / grant-funded environment experience strongly preferred.
  • High degree of professional integrity; ability and commitment to maintain confidentiality of sensitive data.
  • Solid organizational skills : detail-oriented, ability to multi-task, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently, be flexible and work well under pressure in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Excellent communication, analysis and negotiation skill, availability to work with a variety of stakeholders.

  • Develop and implement productivity and efficiency in finance processes to make greater time available for support of operational improvement initiatives
  • Development of Finance Models and non-standard Analysis through Excel and Oracle tools
  • Monthly financial analysis for Senior CI and Operations Leadership
  • Support to Operations team on Productivity, Performance and Site metrics
  • Train Finance Staff on new financial tools and applications
  • Headcount Cost / Control
  • Strong understanding of AWS Supply Chain
  • Alignment of Fcst / Budget / AOP with Functional Leaders
  • GDP Support
  • Ad hoc reporting

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • B.S. or B.A. in Accounting, Finance or Equivalent Experience. MBA / CPA a plus
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant Accounting or Finance. Manufacturing cost accounting experience is required.
  • Thorough understanding of standards under U.S. GAAP
  • Demonstrated ability of leading multiple cross-functional projects
  • Proficiency using Excel to summarize and analyze data including use of pivot tables
  • Problem-solving, analytical skills and the ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Position requires high attention to detail and a desire for continuous improvement
  • Individual will be self-motivated and has experience working with multiple teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and a professional attitude and demeanor
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively, manage multiple projects, and prioritize workload to meet deadlines

SALARY :

The estimated salary range for this position is $105,000 to $132,000 plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
