Your New Role...

Warner Bros. Studio Operations (WBSO), a cornerstone of Warner Bros. Discovery, is seeking a talented professional to join the Finance team.

The position plays a vital role in overseeing the WBSO capital strategic planning and reporting process, including the management of capital budgets, analyzing actual results against plans, and developing strategic and business case analyses to assist with key business decisions.

This high-profile position will interact with WBSO operational departments and project managers, senior management, WBSO Finance personnel in Burbank, UK and Tokyo, in addition to being the point person to coordinate with offshore Center of Excellence resources on capital processes and submissions.

Your Role Accountabilities...

Oversee the preparation and submission of monthly capital spend reports, forecasted project spend, capital cash forecast, and analysis of variances vs.

budget / forecast. Meet with project managers and WBSO departments on project status, and assist departments with project requisitions, change orders, and NPV analyses.

Provide recommendations on capital vs. operating expense treatment. Monitor capital spend for the business unit to ensure alignment with overall annual budget and communicate to senior management risks of overspend as well as opportunities to spend available budget.

  • Effectively manage offshore Center of Excellence resource to accomplish functional objectives, day-to-day responsibilities and ensure work is completed timely and accurately.
  • Oversee the preparation, consolidation, and submission of all WBSO Burbank and UK capital budgets (annual and quarterly updates).

Manage budget / forecasts of all capital project related operating expenses (e.g., depreciation). Drive and own the end-to-end capital budget process including planning, coordination, review, feedback, and delivery to senior management and Corporate

Provide strategic business decision support to assist WBSO management with evaluating business opportunities and capital investments, through timely analysis, recommendations, and development of business plans.

Analysis includes building and maintaining financial models to project future earnings growth; preparing pro-forma financials and documenting key performance indicators, revenue, and cost assumptions.

  • Oversee fixed asset capitalization and asset maintenance, include monitoring asset under construction (AUC) balances and working with Center of Excellence and operations teams to timely and properly capitalize assets when ready for use or write off assets that no longer exist, and reviewing asset capitalization and maintenance packages submitted by direct report.
  • Support month-end / quarter-end reporting deliverables to Corporate, Finance department management, and business unit operational management as required.
  • Perform special projects and ad-hoc analyses as required. Identify and pursue continuous improvement opportunities driving improvements in customer service levels, process efficiencies, and increases in productivity.

Research and provide guidance to ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX, and company policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience...

  • Minimum 5 years relevant work experience in finance / accounting, strategic and business planning, and financial modeling.
  • Experience in preparation of strategic reports and financial analysis to assist management in business decisions.
  • Experience in P&L and cash flow modeling.
  • Experience in budgeting, financial analysis, supervision and management.
  • Industry experience in entertainment, construction and / or manufacturing is preferred.
  • Knowledge of film and television production and studio operations is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration required.
  • CPA and / or MBA required.
  • The successful candidate will spend a significant portion of the day using the PC. such software includes but not limited to :
  • MS Excel (proficient in using advanced macros and pivot tables)
  • MS Word
  • MS Access
  • Business Warehouse
  • Various mainframe systems

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required.

$95,550.00 - $177,450.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards.
