The team

The Biomaterials Planning and Engineering Group supports Inventory Management, Planning, Scheduling and Sourcing to meet growth objectives of our Proprietary Research Products & Materials group.

What we’re looking for

  • Education : College degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Management or other applicable subject area; MBA desirable
  • Experience : Planning,minimum of 2 years+; proficiency in MS office suite (Excel, Access, Word). Proven ability to analyze large data sets;

Strong system proficiency required

Understanding of forecast and replenishment theory, obtained through APICS or similar training coursework. Solid written and verbal communication skills, Strong analytical skills

Solid knowledge and practical use of Forecasting and Inventory Planning tools; i.e. Logility, SAP, or equivalent required

  • Computer skills : Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, CAD and / or Solid Works preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, NFPC, HazWoper, and other governmental regulatory requirements
  • Must possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, be detail oriented, and flexible to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent oral and written skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Global Supply Chain experience and APICS / CPIM certification preferred
  • Experience in a matrix environment, APO or similar forecasting tools highly desirable
  • Formal problem solving training desirable, i.e. Six Sigma

How you will thrive and create an impact

The Demand Planner works independently under close supervision, plan, schedule and monitor the movement of material through the production cycle.

Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Supply Planning to develop demand forecasts (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function.

Determine material requirements from engineering and production schedules.

  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Supply Planning to develop demand forecasts (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function..
  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
  • Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions.
  • Interact with sales, marketing, and customer finance to understand demand forecast drivers.
  • Apply a collaborative and consensus approach by working with Sales, Marketing and Customer Finance to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts.
  • Use and maintain the Demand Planning software as the primary forecasting system tool.
  • Provide input to the Supply Planning organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.
  • Assist Sales & Marketing management in sales forecasting & annual budget preparation.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Supply Planning to manage forecasted demand at SKU & facility level
  • Shared Administration of Demand Works Demand Planning software & Smoothie models.
  • Co-own administration of Demand Works forecasting models with CMD & Planning Team Business Analyst
  • Work to integrate current working forecasts into SalesForce toward building an interactive review process
  • Develop data files as needed.
  • Coordinate the demand planning phase of the monthly Executive S&OP cycle
  • Participate in the supply planning phase of the monthly Executive S&OP cycle
  • Work closely with the Master Scheduler on demand & supply issues at the mix level
  • Coordinate decisions on product availability during periods of short supply.

General Purpose

The Planner III position will be responsible for strategic and tactical plans within DSD Planning across multiple functions.

These functions consist of Distribution Planning, Merchandising Planning, and Sales & Logistics Planning. This role will be responsible for creating and the strategic operational plans to support the strategy across each function, supporting their Market Unit and to provide leadership and guidance to Planner I and II.

Sales & Logistics Planning :

  • Create and maintain strategic plans that align strategic goals and operational needs, delivering business results

Qualifications
