Job Description :
We are currently seeking safety minded, team-oriented Electricians to be a part of small teams at remote job sites. The work includes installing conduit, communications cable, three phase power wires, smart meters, CTs (current transformer), and conducting electrical outages.
This position supports military installations around the United States. Transportation, travel expenses, lodging and per diem will be provided.
REQUIREMENTS :
- 3+ years of electrical experience in a commercial, industrial, or military construction environment
- 3+ years of safety experience
- Must be willing to travel 100% throughout the United States and its territories.
- Valid driver license and ability to pass a motor vehicle record check required.
- Ability to obtain / maintain access to military base.
- US Citizenship required.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
- Journeyman Certification or documented vocational training (in any state)
- OSHA 30 preferred
- Army CQM (Construction Quality Management)
- NFPA 70E (standard electrical safety certification)
- Familiarity with Building Automation Controls
- Smart Metering experience
- Current Transformer installation
- Arc Flash certification
- CPR / First Aid
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
- Must be able to repetitively lift up to 50 pounds.
- Pull, stand, and work in confined spaces; crouch for long periods of time; and work under inclement weather conditions.

Electrician
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.
Applies electrical code to troubleshoot and resolve basic electrical wiring / circuitry problems, install and repair electrical equipment and wiring, roughing in feeders, branch circuit cables and circuits, splice electric or communication cables / trunk lines, and trimming out (finishing) electrical devices.
Uses electrical test equipment, gauges and other measuring devices to test electrical equipment.
Installs Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems per manufacturer's instructions. Performs device validation and system commissioning.
Performs assigned repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance. Completes maintenance and repair records as required.
Responds quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
Reviews historical maintenance records to develop proactive inspection, testing and preventive maintenance schedule.
Operates company vehicle in a safe manner and follows prescribed routines to service locations in a timely manner.
Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Types of projects :
- Electrical systems interface with power, lighting, emergency power, building automation, controls, fire alarm systems, and access control.
- Commercial electrical work running conduit and raceway.
Responsibilities :
- Follow diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before the completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring.
- Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduits.
- Pull wiring through conduits.
- Splice wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps.
- Connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
- Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels.
- Connect power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor, and installs grounding leads.
- Test continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer, and oscilloscope.
- Observe the functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
- Repair faulty equipment or systems.

Requirements :
- Apprentice Electrician (Must have TDLR License).
- Must have a minimum of 2-3 years of work experience.
- Must have knowledge of conduit bending, wire pulling, terminating electrical panels, reading blueprints and wiring schematics.

The role of the apprentice electrician is to support Journeyman Electricians in the installation, maintenance, operation, and repair of electrical systems.

Electrician, Journeyman
About the Position :
This role is an on-campus, in-person position.
Journeyman level work in the performance of preventative, proactive and reactive maintenance of electrical equipment to include, but not limited to : indoor / outdoor, lighting, switchgear, transformers, vaults, and generator sets.
Essential Functions :
Perform weekly, quarterly and annual preventative and predictive maintenance.
Special projects / duties as may be directed.
Report findings and update reports.
Repairs, installs, replaces and tests electrical circuits, equipment and appliances using the necessary handtools and testing instruments.
Inspects and tests electrical lighting, power circuits and equipment.
Isolating defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment using suitable testing instruments.
Examining and testing all elements of electrical systems to locate obvious faults, such as blown fuses, short circuits, broken wires, and loose connections.
Renewing circuits in the form of isolating and / or cutting out the defective wiring and replacing with new wiring or splicing.
Qualifications
Education and Experience :
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Preferably a bachelor's degree.
A minimum of five (5) years of experience with commercial / industrial lighting, and electrical systems to include : generators, switchgear, and transformers is required
Must posses TX Journeyman Electrician license and TX driver's license.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Candidate must be familiar with electrical infrastructure distribution. Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly across the University and develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies.
Must also demonstrate strong written communication skills.
Candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and analyze problems, as well as devise solutions.
Must also have strong organizational, planning and time management skills.
Basic computer skills is required. Ability to manage CMMS.
This position requires on-call rotation responsibilities for evening and weekend work as well as scheduled and unscheduled work for hours other than normal business hours.
Schedules may be adjusted to accommodate coverage for 1st & 2nd shifts during weekdays and / or weekends for temporary or permanent shift changes
