  • Test electrical systems using tools that include voltmeters, oscilloscopes and ohmmeters to determine where issues may be occurring, the safety of the system and to ensure compatibility
  • Document actions, testing results, observations, final diagnosis of the situation and steps taken to resolve issues for each job or situation
  • Repair electrical issues by replacing or installing components, wiring or devices
  • Determine the steps necessary to assess an electrical situation using testing devices, blueprints and maps
  • Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all company guidelines and OSHA safety requirements and also through reporting violations of policies, procedures and guidelines to immediate supervisor
  • Use ladders, scaffolding, platform and lifts to work on electrical systems in residential homes, on roadside poles and in commercial properties* Answer emergency calls quickly, assess the safety of the situation upon first arriving at the scene and provide directions to individuals affected by the electrical emergency to ensure their continued safety and comfort
  • Maintain equipment to ensure it is in good condition and can operate or be used safely; report any issues to immediate supervisorReqiured :
  • Completed electrician apprenticeship* Proficiency with the National Electrical Code and local codes
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more all day* Ability to read blueprints
  • Ability to bend conduit
  • Ability to work at different levels from squatted position to standing for long periods throughout the day.
  • Ability to work off ladders, aerial lifts
  • Must pass criminal background check and drug test

Job Summary and Qualifications

Job Summary :

Maintains and services all electrical service, primary, secondary, transformers, motor generator systems, main switch gear, and U.

P.S. system for Swedish Medical Center and those facilities owned and operated by the hospital

  • Coordinates service with all relevant personnel to maintain safe and efficient systems

What qualifications you will need :

Licensure / Certification / Registration : State of Colorado Journeyman Electrician License.

Experience : Minimum of 4 years experience as a Journeyman Electrician

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities : Reading and understanding blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams and specifications.

This position will perform highly skilled maintenance, installation, repair, and troubleshooting work involved with electrical distribution systems.

Electrical work may be performed in a number of areas including heating, refrigeration, motors, fire alarms, and generator equipment.

Work involves technical application of electrical principles. Work will be on various military installations in Colorado.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Installs, services, and repairs lighting fixtures, electrical panels, outlets, and wiring.
  • Operates power hand tools and other specialized electrical equipment.
  • Installs, repairs, and services specialized electrical equipment and machinery.
  • Constructs and maintains service equipment.
  • Reads electrical circuit diagrams.
  • Requests material and supplies from stockroom, calls vendors to discuss needs for parts and supplies, and recommends purchases and suppliers.
  • Transfers primary power from one power source to another.
  • Installs conductors, splices cable, builds terminations, and does necessary hook-up for primary power lines.
  • Sets poles, strings overhead lines, and does overhead line maintenance.
  • Lays underground conduit for electrical lines and installs low voltage electric lines and conduits for telephone systems.
  • Supervises other regular employees during a minor portion of the employee’s work time. Such duties include assigning and review work.

Education and / or Experience :
