SERVICE DISPATCHER
Responsibilities :
Schedule service repairs and dispatch field service technicians to customer locations for service based on location, skill level of the technicians, and facility response guidelines.
Schedule and dispatch planned maintenance to ensure timely completion.
Receive service requests from customers and coworkers. Enter information into the computer. Assist with paperwork and prepare reports.
May handle registering service vans, scheduling maintenance for the rental fleet, scheduling delivery trucks, and coordination of services with outside vendors.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent
Excellent phone skills
Good communication, organizational, math and computer skills
Experience with Microsoft Office
Leadership skills, technical experience and knowledge a plus
Ability to multitask

HERO Dispatcher - San Antonio
Position Description
Join Serco as a HERO Dispatcher in San Antonio, Texas!
This position is contingent upon your ability to pass a preemployment criminal history check and drug screen.
Serco supports the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) by operating the free HERO patrol service program with the purpose of minimizing traffic congestion and improving highway safety by clearing damaged and disabled vehicles and debris from the travel and emergency Lanes, and providing traffic control and scene protection at incidents.
You will be part of a team that works closely with TxDOT, local law enforcement and other first responders daily. Starting pay is $18.
00 / hr with overtime shifts available.
In this role, you can expect to :
- Monitor video images for the detection and verification of crashes, debris, abandoned or disabled vehicles, and hazardous or non-hazardous spills.
- Dispatch and communicate with Highway Emergency Response Operator (HERO) personnel via radio or telephone using standard protocol to the locations of road hazards and crashes, providing clear directions to the location and an accurate description of an incident as advised by citizens, public safety entities, or department personnel.
- Log potential and confirmed incidents, construction and maintenance closures using ITS software.
- Provide information or assistance to motorists, TxDOT personnel, or other agencies on traffic and road conditions; direct calls to appropriate personnel in traffic operations or take action as necessary.
- Perform clear and concise record keeping, logging of required information, equipment checks, data gathering, and updating of manuals and contact lists that include all pertinent information
- Complete the initial and on-the job training programs under the supervision of, and monitored by, the Training Supervisor and Program Manager.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have :
Have at least six months customer support or equivalent experience
within the last three years.
- High School diploma
- Available to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Able to speak English language (fluent Spanish is plus)
