OPPORTUNITY

Green Dot Public Schools is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Editorial Manager and Content Creator to join our Communications team.

You will be responsible for coordinating with school principals and other stakeholders to gather information and ensure the timely dissemination of updates to our various audiences.

In addition, you will be instrumental in crafting engaging and informative communication materials such as newsletters, blogs, press releases, social media posts, and student recruitment collateral.

As Editorial Manager and Content Creator, you will play a vital role in preparing well-structured drafts and publishing various pieces for Green Dot’s website, blog, articles, newsletters and social media platforms.

You curate all editorial content and content calendars for the organization while supporting the Communications Director in developing and executing the communication strategy for Green Dot Public Schools.

You will work closely with the Communications and Marketing department to direct internal and external communications efforts with the goals of increasing student enrollment, attracting high-quality talent, maintaining strong community ties and distinguishing Green Dot California’s as a leader in public education.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist the Communications Director in developing and executing the communication strategy to enhance the visibility and reputation of Green Dot Public Schools

Monitor website analytics and provide regular reports to the Communications Director on website performance and user engagement

Stay informed about current trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in content creation and digital communication, and make recommendations for continuous improvement

Read and understand data and convert to digestible information for internal and public audiences

QUALIFICATIONS

As an ideal candidate, you

have a bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field (required)

have 5+ years of strategic communications and / or writing-intensive marketing experience with demonstrated success in creating persuasive communications materials

have a passion for education and the belief that every child can succeed; experience in education or other non-profit field a plus

have proven experience in content creation, copywriting, and editing, preferably in an educational, nonprofit or public service setting

possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to adapt content to different audiences and platforms

are proficient in crafting engaging and persuasive narratives that align with the organization's messaging and objectives

possess strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

are experienced with website content management systems (CMS) and basic knowledge of HTML and CSS

are familiar with social media platforms and best practices for content creation and engagement

are able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and establish effective relationships with diverse stakeholders

COMPENSATION

The starting salary range for this position is $75,000 - $85,000, based on education and experience. In addition, this position qualifies for a one-time $2,500 signing bonus, paid in two installments after months 6 and 12 of employment (subject to change).
