Business Analyst
Responsibilities
- Develop requirements for process or system solutions which may span multiple business domains by partnering with stakeholders and appropriate function areas then document the details necessary to help the development team fully understand what is to be built
- Break down business partner stories and business requirements into backlog items to be worked by the product developers and ensure the developers have a thorough understanding of each business partner story and / or application requirement
- Maintain Business process documentation including additions, changes, or removal of product capabilities to ensure traceability
- Ensure that all required documentation is complete and stored appropriately
- Collaborate with other business analysts and scrum teams to ensure consistency in processes and documentation style
- Provide functional design specifications for new development and major enhancements
- Work with designers to create interfaces that satisfy business requirements and adhere to accepted design standards
- Work with testing team to develop and maintain functional test cases / scenarios and automated test scripts for load and regression testing
- Provide thorough acceptance criteria for all application requirements and facilitate user acceptance testing
- Review and facilitate remediation of defects resulting from regression and load testing
- Document and assign defects resulting from functional, regression and load testing
- Participate in all customer demos for complete application requirements
- Verify production changes and coordinate with business units effected
- Gain and maintain a thorough understanding of supported business area(s)
- Analyze business problems and recommend improvements and / or solutions
- Maintain IT relationships by working with application architects, infrastructure teams, and / or database administrators to ensure compliance with OD Technology processes including SDLC, code review process, promotion process, etc.
- Work with OD Technology Training team to create training documentation as needed
- Participate in the Agile process by attending daily and weekly scrums
- Participate in the interview process of prospective candidates
- Provide guidance to less experienced Business Analysts
Job Qualifications
Education :
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent education and experience
Experience :
- 4 years of working experience in an Information Technology environment as a Business Analyst
- Proficient with system / application design and end user support
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to develop and document requirements and specifications
- Ability to communicate in both technical and user-friendly language
- Experience working in an Agile development environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work as a team player
- Strong problem-solving skills and self-motivated
- Ability to mentor others

Business Systems Analyst (JIRA/Confluence)

Job Title : Business Systems Analyst, Jira-Confluence
Job Summary : As a Business Systems Analyst in our Back Office Program, you will be responsible for a mix of project management, application administration, process optimization, business analysis, and production support.
This role will partner with business units in process evaluation and optimization, solution implementation and providing support for Productivity and Service Management applications utilized by internal and external stakeholders such as Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence) and Zendesk.
The ideal candidate has significant experience administering JIRA Service Management and Jira Project, Confluence and Zendesk, including integrations to other tools such as Miro, Qualtrics, Smartsheet and other third party applications.
This role will maintain a comprehensive understanding of current and future needs of the Technology Organization and Customer Service by working directly with stakeholders and in partnership with the appropriate Program Managers and IT Leadership.
The BSA will serve as a subject matter expert for cross-functional projects and upstream / downstream systems, with the first major project to aid in the migration to JIRA Cloud and transition tools from DevOps to the Business Applications team.
This role reports up through the Sr. Manager, Business Applications.

What you’ll do
Ensure systems that support your end users are reliable, adopted, remain relevant and seamlessly support evolving business processes.
This includes sourcing, configuring, implementing, maintaining, upgrading, integrating, providing training for and monitoring applications.
- Creating and managing project workflows, screen schemes, permission schemes, notification schemes, dashboards and other aspects of tool configuration & usage.
- Testing, installing and configuring 3rd party add-ons for our tools to provide enhanced functionality.
- Providing training to new users of JIRA, Confluence, and other tools to leverage best practices and avoid common pitfalls
- Own the relationship with our vendors, including procurement, licensing, and support.
- Drive our approach to supporting our users and continuously improving our service offerings.
- Conduct a variety of workshops such as : joint application development, design thinking, requirements gathering, mind mapping, value stream mapping, etc.
- Perform discovery gap analyses, process design, requirements gathering, source to target mapping and data analyses, data cleansing and data migration activities.
- Author diverse documentation, including business process flow diagrams, system context diagrams, value stream maps, user stories, end-to-end test scenarios, knowledge base articles and training materials.
- Collaborate effectively and efficiently with developers, stakeholders and leaders during various stages of development including designing, configuration / coding, testing, deploying, maintaining.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for cross-functional projects and upstream / downstream systems.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement to increase output, raise quality and reduce cost.
- Work independently to drive time, scope and budget, testing, implementation, risk and change management.

- Base salary range : For this role, new hires generally start between $102,000.00 $120,650.00. Full range : $102,000.00 - $152,000.
