Prepares all alcoholic beverages for guests and venue servers. Actively takes orders, conducts full and complete food / beverage service, and monitors guests’ bar / dining experience.
Interacts with the bar guests, team members, and supervisors in a polite and courteous manner to ensure gracious hospitality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO :
Anticipate and accommodate the needs of the guests.
Provides professional and exceptional service.
Presents menus, answers questions, and makes suggestions for all food and beverage items.
Inform guests of all food and beverage specials, with prices.
Required to solicit any allergy or dietary restrictions from each guest.
Accurately enter all orders into the POS system and follow proper cash / payment card procedures.
Ensures the delivery of all food and beverage to the guests at the bar and lounge (where applicable).
Maintain general cleanliness of bar and bar area and the entire venue.
Makes sure all liquor displays and shelving are organized, and par levels are maintained.
Follow supervisor’s instructions, communicate with and support co-workers, and be a team player.
Possesses in-depth knowledge of all food and beverage menus and the company.
Serves all alcoholic beverages in accordance with all state regulations and alcohol awareness training standards.
Complies with Department of Health and company sanitation standards.
Accurately completes all end-of-shift financial procedures.
Communicates the needs of the guests to Front-of-House and Heart-of-House support staff, managers, and chefs.
Properly sets up the bar stations, performs side-work and other opening / closing procedures as directed by management, including :
Ensures the bar and bar area is clean and free of debris
Sets bar with proper equipment, and settings as required
Wipes down bar-top, bar stools, lounge tables, and chairs
Stocks bar stations with prescribed supplies
Performs opening and closing side-work as prescribed
Properly follow all beverage requisition procedures
Reports all breakage, and damage of equipment or furniture immediately to management.
Attends and participates in daily pre-service meetings.
Attends and participates in any training sessions or departmental meetings.
Learn by listening, observing other team members, and sharing knowledge while leading by example.
Portrays a positive and professional attitude.
Demonstrates knowledge of Tao Group Hospitality, its partners, and supporting hotel environments.
Works as part of a team and provides help and support to all fellow team members.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS :
Tao Group Hospitality in-venue bartender training
EDUCATION / WORKING KNOWLEDGE :
1-2 years of professional beverage experience.
Previous bartending experience.
Experience in a high-volume restaurant / nightclub / lounge.

MISSION
To ensure a pleasant and enjoyable dining experience for all customers at the club’s Sports Bar. Greet customers with a smile as they are seated at or approach the bar.
Provide menus as needed, and take customers orders in a service-oriented manner, demonstrating complete knowledge of all menu items and employing suggestive selling skills.
Recognize regular customers and anticipate their needs. Produce drink orders for the cocktail and restaurant servers. Process meal orders promptly, and deliver meals as soon as they are prepared by the kitchen.
Keep the bar area clean, neat uncluttered and fully stocked. Follow all state liquor laws when serving alcohol.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet and welcome customers as they are seated; get to know and use the names of regular customers
- Offer a menu to each customer, describe the daily specials, ask if they would like water, and take drink orders
- Assist customers in selecting their food orders; make suggestions where appropriate
- Promote daily specials, new menu items, and healthy alternatives for those interested in low-fat meals
- Measure all drinks properly using a jigger; no free pouring
- Follow all beverage standards and procedures, using the beverage manual and recipe book as references
- Be flexible with customers regarding special requests; allow substitutions wherever possible
- Enter orders into the computer promptly; make sure special requests are spelled out plainly for the line cooks
- Check on customers; refill drinks as needed or requested; give customers updates on their order as appropriate

Specific responsibilities of the Bartender include :
- Maintains a warm, welcoming, Corner Bar atmosphere

- IDs all guests ordering alcoholic beverages who appear to be 40 years old or younger
- Properly and promptly prepare, garnish, and serve drinks to guests
- Engages with guests by making drinks in front of the guest using working flair

- Upsells guests on food or drink items when appropriate

- Accurately rings up all orders in the POS system while maintaining ability to socialize with guests

Requirements
A TGI Fridays Bartender must be able to mix drinks quickly and accurately in a fast-paced, high volume environment, while maintaining a celebratory atmosphere and making guests feel valued.
Additional specific requirements for the Bartender include :
- Must be dressed neatly and well-groomed in company approved dress code at all times
- Must follow standards of Responsible Service of Alcohol
- Must meet local jurisdiction requirements, including but not limited to obtaining required certifications
- Must be able to operate P.O.S. system, make change correctly and make credit card transactions
- Must be able to calmly respond to angry guests and notify a Manager
- Must be able to pass initial and annual validation
- Must be able to respond clearly to guests’ requests
- Must be able to hear well amongst loud background noise
- Must be able to frequently lift 30 lb. cases and carry short distances, up or down stairs
