Current aviation planning projects being undertaken by our team include work for airport authorities, airlines, investors and agencies relating to demand capacity analysis, modeling, requirement definition, operational improvement analysis, terminal and airside planning, master planning related with airport development programs.

As part of our Toronto-based global aviation center of excellence, you will work with a range of exciting clients across Canada, Regionally and Internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Support and managing aviation planning projects for external and internal clients in Texas, Canada, and internationally
  • Engaging in business development efforts to secure aviation planning work and build client relationships
  • Preparing and managing preparation of high-quality project deliverables, including documentations and presentations
  • Preparing and delivering effective public presentations and representing Arup to clients and stakeholders
  • Establishing and maintaining connections with professional colleagues, identifying and developing marketing leads, preparing marketing proposals and materials, and representing Arup at interviews
  • Delivering high-quality products, undertaking financial management of projects and being responsible for client relationships, and management of staff and subcontractors
  • Helping to manage and mentor junior staff

Qualifications

  • University Degree in Civil or Aeronautical Engineering, Architecture, Planning or closely-related discipline
  • Good standing in a professional or industry association
  • 10+ years relevant professional experience within the aviation sector
  • Current senior role within their business / team
  • Demonstrated experience with a range of key clients that could include airport authorities, airlines, private sector developers, and / or contractors within the aviation infrastructure sector
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Understanding of aviation planning, architecture or engineering, capacity modelling (strategic and micro-simulation) and construction;

Project Architect - Aviation

We are currently seeking a Project Architect with experience working on Aviation projects, including terminals and concourses, to join our team in Texas.

Candidate can live in Dallas, Houston or Austin. As a Project Architect, you, in partnership with the Project Manager and Project Designer, are accountable for project financial performance and team communication.

You are also responsible for the issuance and content of deliverables, technical content of HOK documents and coordination of disciplines including consultants and for the supervision of all staff producing documents.

Leadership

  • Responsible for ensuring the overall design intent of the project established by the Project Designer is incorporated into the detailed documentation.
  • Monitors the design process from conceptual phase through construction administration, ensuring the design idea is consistent and properly executed.
  • Responsible for technical resolution and coordination for a defined portion of a project.
  • Works with Specification Writer to develop specifications and is responsible for coordination of drawings and specifications.
  • Checks completed reports, plans, estimates and calculations for accuracy.
  • Sets the overall strategy for producing the documents and identifies the sheets planned for each stage of the work. This includes defining how data will be organized into files and which elements will be incorporated in a Building Information Model (BIM).
  • Sets up project team software parameters and manages standards.
  • Fosters and maintains a collaborative professional working relationship with the Project Leadership Team.
  • Responsible for communication with other disciplines, vendors, and contractors to ensure incorporation of all information into project requirements and provides support as necessary.

Applies aerodynamic sealer, and masks the aircraft using tapes and paper products (to protect windows, seals, struts, cables, etc.

  • Mixes, blends and thins paint products, per the manufacturers’ maintenance manual specifications.
  • Applies paint to the aircraft interior and exterior surfaces. (Paints include : urethanes, acrylic urethanes, enamels, lacquers and epoxy paints.)

The primary responsibility of the Aircraft Maintenance Technician is to ensure that timely and appropriate maintenance is provided for all company aircraft, to ensure safe operations and compliance with all regulatory and company requirements.

This includes all manufacturer-mandated repairs, as well as calendar and hourly maintenance requirements. Responsibilities also include that of flight technician duties on domestic and international flights for safety and passenger comfort.

Ability to keep aircraft and work areas at the highest standards. All duties are to be performed in accordance with regulatory and Occidental policies, practices, and procedures.

  • Promotes the Occidental safety culture while providing the highest level of customer service.
  • Conducts duties in compliance with all pertinent Federal Aviation Regulations, Certificate of Airworthiness requirements, Company policies and procedures, and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform aircraft inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, servicing, and fueling / defueling of company aircraft in accordance with all regulatory, manufacturer, and Occidental requirements.
  • Perform quality assurance duties as part of the company RII program.
  • Ensure that all discrepancies are properly documented, repaired or deferred per the MEL and that the aircraft is in airworthy condition prior to each flight.

  • Ship, receive and inspect aircraft parts.

  • Perform flight technician duties on domestic and international flights with no restrictions.
  • Maintains a high level of knowledge of the assigned type of aircraft, regulations, and standard operating procedures.
