Full Job Description

The Communication Specialist is one of the first points of contact for discharge planners, physicians, facilities, and other Emergency Medical Services (EMS) agencies.

This position is primarily responsible for emergency flight operations for Pafford’s air medical teams. This includes call intake for inter-facility flights, dispatching the flight team, flight following, and coordinating helicopter operations with landing zone coordinators and security / police officers at sending and receiving facilities.

When not actively working through flight requests, the Communication Specialist is responsible for taking non-emergency ground ambulance transport requests.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Ability to perform oriented tasks efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
  • Ability to listen, speak and write articulately clearly and interact with the public, a diverse workgroup, and emergency staff without confusion.
  • Ability to gain an understanding of the current telecommunications organizational structure, policies, procedures, programs, practices, terminology, and services.
  • Ability to work all shifts, including holidays and weekends
  • Ability to communicate respectfully and effectively.
  • Ability to summarize key individual characteristics and enter the information into the database (while using correct grammar, spelling and punctuation) for use by co-workers and pre-hospital care staff.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership qualities such as adaptability, flexibility, dependability, punctuality and accountability through quick, effective responses to change.

Training to be provided :

Reading weather reports Taking non-emergency ground ambulance transport requests. Scheduling non-emergency ground ambulance transports

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment at one year :

  • Proficiency in above training
  • Certified Flight Communicator Course (sponsored by the International Association of Medical Transport Communication Specialists).

Education / training REQUIRED :

High school graduate or GED Education / training

PREFERRED : Certified Flight Communicator Course Additional position requirements :

Rotational hours (Weekend, Day, Evening, Night, Holiday)

Hours may vary, and shift holdovers may be necessary to assist the team when call volume is high.

Salary : $38,896-$50,336 based on a 48-hour weak one week and a 36-hour week the next.

Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

  • Performs aircraft component plating operations including chrome, cadmium, copper, silver, etching, anodizing, Alodine and various other tasks associated with the plating process.

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • 24 Months Verifiable, hands-on work experience in aircraft type plating
  • Possess advanced plating process knowledge about critical manual operations and plating processes.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays, and days-off
  • Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA)
  • Must be able to secure appropriate airport authority and / or US Customs security badges
  • This job is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol testing. Your previous employers will be contacted to verify if you had any DOT drug violations and / or refusals to test for drugs or alcohol in the previous two year period.

Your DOT required urine specimen will be tested for the following substances : Cocaine, Marijuana, PCP, Amphetamines and Opiates.

Position Purpose :

The Powerplant Engineer is responsible for technical standards and reliability of aircraft engines, power-plant, auxiliary power unit (APU) and components.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities :

Essential Functions :

  • Review aircraft reliability data and implement corrective actions via engineering modification and / or repair documents in support of achieving aircraft technical dispatch reliability (TDR) goals.
  • Establish build standards and specifications for engines, powerplant, APUs and components
  • Develop and issue engineering orders to accomplish major and minor repairs, modifications and alterations to engines, powerplant, components and accessories.
  • Develop engineering procedures, standards and process specification to comply with Airworthiness Directives and other regulatory requirements.
  • Review Service Bulletins, Service Letters, and other service documents to determine applicability. Perform cost benefit analysis to determine effectiveness of proposed modifications
  • Review Engine Health Monitoring (EHM) trend data and implement corrective actions to prevent operational problems.
  • Coordinate engineering functions with regulatory agencies as required for approval for major repairs and alterations.
  • Evaluate damaged engine parts and provide solutions beyond the applicable manual limitations in accordance with regulatory and original equipment manufacturer requirements
  • Identify new technologies that will improve the operational performance and reliability of engines and components.
  • Maintains awareness of ETOPS significant systems. Assists the department to ensure ETOPS aircraft continue to meet requirements for configuration, maintenance, and procedures for extended range operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

As an ideal candidate to join the AVTECH team, you will meet the following :

Education and Experience Requirements :

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or technical related curriculum applicable to the respective job position required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • 5+ years power plant experience (commercial aviation preferred)

Required Unique Skills :

  • Experience with internal gas turbine engine piece parts
  • Experience with gas turbine engine repair / overhaul
  • Experience with gas turbine engine operations
