TERRITORY OPERATIONS MANAGER
The Territory Operations Manager (TOM) schedules, manages and delivers operational training in pre-defined areas for salaried and hourly retail associates. The goal of the Territory Operations Managers is to increase operational performance in all assigned stores. The TOM will accomplish this by teaching and training in the aisles with associates or in a training room environment using a variety of tools provided to them including web based training, mobile device, webinars, and in-person activities to achieve operational consistency in process. The stores in which a TOM visit is required will be managed centrally at the Store Support Center. The Territory Operations Manager may be required to visit other stores in the region to engage with associates and identify best practices. Additionally, the TOM will occasionally be required to drive sales in stores by providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- 10% Change Management - Remain current and well versed on operational processes and updates
- Ability to quickly adapt to change and implement new practices; Anticipates impact of change; plans how to communicate change effectively and build support
- 10% Communication - Effectively communicate and partner with Store Managers and District Managers on operational areas of improvement needed and next steps; Plan, implement and conduct in-store training sessions including partnering with Store Manager prior to visit, outlining key areas to be trained and following up on next steps/actions taken
- 5% Training - Ability to speak and present to groups of associates speak interpersonally with individuals, report to management and interact with the Store Support Center; Monitors course material for effectiveness, reviews feedback and provides recommendations to Store Support Center to improve; Establish and build relationships with a wide range of associates locally, regionally, and nationally; maintain regular communication with associates via direct contact, email, conference calls or webinars
- 75% Training and Development - Delivery of training and development curriculum for store associates in key operational areas such as Front End, Back End (Receiving and Freight), Tool Rental and Repair, Interconnected Retail including Selling Systems, In-Stock, Customer Service, Safety and Asset Protection; Ability to evaluate operational processes and quickly identify positive and negative trends

- This Position typically reports to Regional Director of Operations

Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel 20% to 50% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about; occasionally there may be a need to stoop or lift light objects (typically less than 8 pounds).
Working Conditions:
- Usually in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort from such things as dust, fumes or odors.
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of presentation software (e.g., Microsoft PowerPoint)
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Minimum Education:
- The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.
