Job Description
Assembly : Assembly of electronic components and subassemblies; fabrication and test of RF semi-rigid coaxial cables, installation and hookup in consoles and cabinets, manual and machine circuit checks, complete assembly of major electronic units such as chassis, TRU's, consoles and cabinets.
Electromechanical : Fabrication, assembly, installation, rework, and functional check of electrical and mechanical parts, assemblies and electromechanical assemblies, modifications to production, prototype, developmental and experimental electronic assemblies.
Encapsulation : Development of procedures for encapsulating, or otherwise packaging electronic assemblies : including mixing and application of these compounds and the application of identification marking as required.
Perform complete soldering, cleaning, and lead trimming of circuit card assemblies and backplanes with the operation of flow soldering systems, reflow systems, and lead trimmers.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Obtain and hold ESD, Material Handling, and Solder Certifications.
- Ability to read and interpret assembly instructions.
- Perform solder and crimping as required by specifications.
- May operate spray guns, air brushes, stencil cutting machines and other lettering equipment.
- One (1) to three (3) years experience as an electronic assembler
- required.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Obtain and hold ESD, Material Handling, and Solder Certifications.
- Ability to read and interpret assembly instructions.
- Perform solder and crimping as required by specifications.
- May operate spray guns, air brushes, stencil cutting machines and other lettering equipment.
- Five (5) years experience as an electronic assembler.
- Conformal coat, potting and / or encapsulation experience.

As a Supervisor Assembly, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.

- Manage team of technicians and assemblers responsible for product build, support and repair
- Collaborate with customers, buyers / planners, customer service, production, and shipping teams to ensure product is built, repaired, refurbished, and shipped on time
- Track yield / PPH / working hours, prioritize actions, and track / report results on a daily / hourly basis

Duties and Responsibilities :
Responsible for assembling multiple product lines including integration of sub-assemblies into the instrument
Execute on multiple production orders and processes within allotted time standards

Minimum Requirements :

As we continue to grow in our Camera Systems Group, Malin Space Science Systems is looking for another high-level Electronics Assembly Technician to work on Flight Hardware Systems under the direction of Production Manager or Production Management.
Job Duties
- Assemble electronic assemblies by following detailed procedures and utilizing solder assembly best practices.
- Creates and maintains detailed assembly records.
- Assists hardware engineers in assembly of prototype, flight electronics and cable harnesses, testing, troubleshooting, and integrating flight electronics with mechanical components.
- Performs other duties as required or requested which may become essential to this position.
Qualifications
- High-School Graduate / GED required. Some college or Trade School / ROP certification desired.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience.
- Excellent hand soldering, harness wiring, cable building, documentation, organization, and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to details and ability to work closely with each member of a production team.
- Results-oriented, self-motivated and dependable.

Primary Responsibilities :
- Handling and managing fragile composite materials.
- Bond, prep and bonding of composite structures.
- Notate usage and out time controls on all adhesive materials used.
- Report data and interface with other employees and departments.
- Tooling preparation and release application.
- Utilize measurement tools such as calipers, rulers, and tape measures for fabricating hardware.
- Assist in maintaining overall shop appearance and cleanliness.
Skills / Experience :
- 8+ years experience with close-tolerance assembly work (e.g. electronics assembly, mechanical assembly, modeling)
