NOTE : Compensation, benefits, and other position details are subject to Phillips Tank’s policies and procedures. Day to Day Duties : Performing arc and torch cutting and gouging.
Using generators, compressors, tuggers, blowers, grinders, and other power and air tools. Welding plate with 7018, 7024 and 6010 stick (SMAW), flux core (FCAW), and submerged arc automatic machines (3 o’clock and goat / tractor).
Using come-alongs, hydraulic jacks, hoists, air bags, winches, and other lifting equipment. Using tank shell buggies, tank scaffolding, tank ladders, and other specialty equipment.
Operating forklifts, man lifts, boom lifts, and other large lifting equipment. Knowledge of crane operations (including rigging and signaling) Reading detailed erection and fabrication drawings.
Planning the sequence and methods of fitting up, welding, repairing, and constructing tanks. Completing job safety analysis, safety audits, site-specific training, and other safety training.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Must be a highly safety-oriented individual
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience welding pressure vessels or heat exchanger components
- Extensive knowledge of welding with SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW & SAW thermal processes in the manufacturing of various types of pressure vessels and heat exchangers
- Ability to pass a weld qualification for each process
- Ability to read prints for both required specifications as well as dimensions
- Ability to weld within the parameters of a WPS / PQR
- Ability to be proficient in arc gouging process
- Ability to be a self-motivated and highly productive employee who requires minimal supervision and who can efficiently execute a plan to make jobs happen on time within the hours given
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position will be exposed to welding fumes and gases, and dust from grinder : use of PPE imperative. Work area is not climate controlled so extreme heat / cold may be experienced.

- Ability to work in a shop environment in all seasons
- Ability to safely enter and work productively in confined spaces of an exchanger or vessel

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Fuses (welds) metal structural components together by means of arc welding using one process in the fabrication of steel electrical poles, substations, and other structures.
- Performs welding operations requiring a limited amount of planning and lying out of work from blueprints or other written specifications and determining operation sequence.
- Performs some welding on objects involving moderate safety and load requirements working in one position.
- Movement of pole shafts using an overhead crane and the gathering of parts and materials to complete the project.

General Summary :
The Welder position is responsible for setting, fitting, and welding various assemblies to be used in the construction of our air handling equipment.
This position is 1st shift and will work on our Tulsa Campus.
Shift : 7AM-3PM
Pay : $23.91
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Maintains a high focus on safety and quality within the department
- Identify work to be performed via MII or SAP work center priority and access unit and assembly drawings
- Reads and interprets blue prints and machine drawings to determine specific welding requirements (preferred)
- Size up components and verify they are within specified tolerances
- Set up weld equipment for specific task to be performed
- Weld components using proper equipment and techniques
- Grind and finish welds to make aesthetically appealing
- Operate material handling equipment as needed, based on safety guidelines
- Perform daily housekeeping tasks (5S) and preventative maintenance tasks
- High level of focus and concentration level to ensure quality work and to avoid safety hazards

Minimum Qualifications :
- Between 6-12 months welding experience, required
- Aluminum welding experience
- Basic Math & Computer skills, required
- Ability to pass welding test on material in use, required

Experienced MIG Welder, temp to hire : Experience with Hard Wire MIG Welding, Spray Arc, production type environment a plus.
Operate and interpret reading from basic measurement equipment. Fitter welder is a plus.
