Responsibilities

As a member of a high performing team, you will be providing exceptional service and helping team members do the same. Daily responsibilities may include :

• Ensuring the quality of Company merchandise, and making and providing accurate assessments of merchandise quality and condition so that the company may make proper decisions on the best course of action.
• Maintaining the shop and personal workspace in a clean, organized, presentable, and efficient manner.
• Constantly pursuing personal and shop improvement and development.
• Working professionally, efficiently, and courteously with all Store and Company staff, fostering teamwork and respect.
• Findings inventory.
• Supporting other shops as well as our home office when there are work overflows or special projects.
• Consulting directly with staff and customers as needed to help ensure customer needs are met through the sales process and / or the repair process.
• Providing cost estimates for additional shop / jeweler personalization options that the customer can entertain depending on desires.
• Maintaining safety and security protocols including those specifically associated with shop equipment and chemicals.
• Use technology such as computers and iPads for shop job tracking.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of prior bench experience is preferred. Don't have the full 2 years of experience? Apprentice jewelers are welcome to apply!
• We are available to our customers when they need us so evening and weekend availability is a must. (Though unlike most retailers, we are closed on major holidays!)
• Must possess a high level of visual acuity and manual dexterity.
• Great ability to provide and receive feedback from peers, supervisors, and customers and adapt behavior with coaching.
• Comfortable with technology.
• Must be able to effectively manage deadlines.
• Must be able to demonstrate basic communication skills in both written and spoken English, as well as basic math.

Work Environment

The primary environment for this role is in assigned production-focused workshop within a retail environment. This role requires sitting for significant periods of time.

This role requires bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, and occasional lifting of objects. The role requires close attention to visual detail, extreme manual dexterity, and color discernment.

In addition, business is conducted using the telephone and computer technology. Work environment includes noise, flame, tools, and utilization of standard bench jeweler equipment.

Travel is not required.

The salary range for this role is $25.00 - $40.00 per hour. The range describes the minimum to maximum likely rate for this job description in the state of Colorado.

Individual pay will be determined based on skills and qualifications for the role. The salary range for this same position may be lower or higher in markets outside of Colorado.

Fabricate and assemble metal structures and equipment through the use of welders, cutters, shapers and measuring tools

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following :

• Carryout production, inspection, and welding operation duties
• Operate basic shop equipment (band saw, grinders, etc.)
• Use various measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gage)
• Builds fixtures for work holding as required
• Perform TIG, MIG, and other types of welding based on project needs
• Set up welding machines in accordance with job to be performed
• Read blueprints and technical data to plan layout and procedures
• Work with designers and engineers to resolve print / part issues and exchange technical information
• Deburr and clean parts as required
• Other Duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

Previous experience reading blue prints and job traveler specifications to determine the proper tooling required to set up each job.

Knowledge of welding the following materials; Aluminum, Mild Steel, and Stainless Steel.

Responsibilities :

• Welding pipe, templates, trench boxes, steel piles, welding related equipment repairs Welds and assembles metal components to effect repairs to dump trucks, trailers, and other equipment.
• Attend work on the schedule established by the employer and without excessive absenteeism.
• When not welding, must be willing to work with the crews as directed
• Follow all safe work practices.
• Obtain parts and materials.
• Access area to be welded by climbing ladder if needed.
• Use disc grinder to smooth out, weld, or grind parts prior to welding.
• Operate manual and automated welding units and equipment by depositing metal from electrode to work piece and joins edges of work piece.
• Maintain length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead.
• Weld in flat and vertical planes (all position welding).
• Examine weld for bead size and other specifications.
• Grind or clean weld joint of work piece.
• Repair improperly welded pieces and fill holes.
• Position and clamp work pieces together or assemble them in a jig fixture.
• Fabricate new or replacement parts for dump trucks, trailers, and wheel wash unit.
• Assemble component parts using hand and small power tools.
• May change hoses, fittings, air valves, suspension parts, etc. and cleanup work area daily.

Requirements :

• 5 Years welding experience, stick and wire "flux core", pipe and beam fitting, ability to pass pre-employment Weld Test Understand and follow basic welding Safety procedures
• Must be physically capable of navigating rugged terrain for purpose of performing duties outlined above.
• Must work in all weather conditions and be prepared for both extreme heat and cold
• Must be able to work independently and maintain a schedule of work.
• Must be available to work Over Time
• Ability to stand, squat, stoop, bend, lift for extended periods of time
• Must pass post offer drug screen-Ability to lift and carry, on a frequent basis, at least 50-90 pounds personally, and up to 150 pounds with assistance.
