We currently have a great opportunity for a Warehouse Clerk to join our team in Bronx, NY.
In this role, you will be responsible for all of the warehouse duties to support our day-to-day operations and will report directly to the DSD Warehouse Manager.
A valid Driver's License is required for this position.
Job Description
- Receiving and unloading of incoming shipments
- Loading trucks for outgoing deliveries
- Assembling customer / driver orders including pulling cases, assembling pallets or racks, preparing for shipment and checking for pick accuracy
- Delivering product direct to stores and / or customer warehouse, whenever needed
- Maintaining inventory control of all warehouse items
- Maintaining personal and food safety and compliance standards
- Coordinating general maintenance and cleaning of warehouse and equipment
- Maintaining personal and food safety and compliance standards
- Attending and participate in all sales / safety meetings
Qualifications
- Ability to use material handling equipment, specifically a forklift and pallet jack
- Valid Driver’s License and no major driving infractions
- Ability to drive a 16-foot box truck (no CDL required)
- Ability to lift 15-40 pounds
- Drug screen and background investigation will be conducted
- Highly motivated self-starter
- Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively, both internally and externally
- Good math and communication skills with the ability to read, write and speak English
- An enthusiastic, positive, self-motivated, resourceful team player is a must
Pay Range : $15.00-$20.00. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.

All About the Role
Based at Newark Steel Limited, Sylvan Way, Off the Old Great North Road, Balderton, Newark, NG24 3UT, the purpose of this role is to ensure customers’ orders are fulfilled to the highest standards in a fast-paced environment.
The hours are Monday to Thursday 8 : 30m to 4 : 30pm & Fridays 8 : 00 am to 4 : 00 pm. 37.5 hours per week.
Specific tasks could include :
- Pick computer generated orders with repetitive handling / lifting of heavy and large item.
- Loading, cutting (Saws) and offloading of steel.
- Ensure all documentation is correctly actioned for accuracy of stock.
- Transferring stock to its location using a Forklift truck.
- Assisting in the overall production and dispatch of customers’ orders
- Keep work area clean and tidy maintain high levels of Health and Safety.
- Be adaptable and flexible in approach to work to meet operational requirements.
- Operate machinery (only when trained to do so)

Essential Skills for the role :
- The successful candidate will have experience as a Warehouse Operative but does not have to necessarily be in the Steel Industry as training will be given.
- Have a flexible attitude, be results oriented, and enjoy working in a team environment.
- Side-Loader / Fork-Lift experience desirable, however training will be given.
- A strong commitment to Health & Safety.
- Satisfactory completion of a pre employment drug and alcohol test
