Job Overview

Under the supervision of the Transportation Manager, the Dispatcher Coordinator I is responsible for the coordination and delegation of daily pickup and delivery assignments to our ADC Fleet drivers.

You are responsible for ensuring their timely and successful completion of pickup and delivery assignments. You are tasked with logging and maintaining a database of all driver daily hours for the Transportation Manager to review.

Duties

  • Assign ADC Fleet drivers to pick up outside vendor orders
  • Organize and dispatch customer deliveries through our ADC Fleet drivers
  • Ensure timely and successful completion of deliveries
  • Work in conjunction with ADC customer service representatives to optimize truckloads to our company branches
  • Organize and process all paperwork received from ADC Fleet drivers
  • Monitor ADC Fleet drivers through Rand McNally GPS to ensure they are DOT compliant and demonstrating proper driving habits
  • Schedule appropriate number of drivers for the next day's work assignments
  • Communicate with our Orange slab yard in regards to equipment needs
  • Assist the Transportation Manager with miscellaneous tasks and duties as needed
  • Promote a positive team environment within all departments and branches
  • Work within the framework of the company's defined policies, procedures, goals, and directives.
  • Any other duties required of this position

Minimum Qualifications

  • College degree in Logistics / Supply Chain Management or High School diploma with 5 years' of experience in logistics and transportation
  • Proficient in Microsoft office programs and strong computer skills
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment
  • Close attention to details and high level of accuracy
  • Excellent attendance at current or previous employment
  • Desire to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Highly organized and deadline oriented with strong leadership skills

reports maintenance needed and / or any damage to their Superintendent, Foreman and Shop Foreman.

  • Responsible for ensuring material is loaded safely and efficiently (ensures not overweight, no debris, etc.) and safely transports to jobsites and / or plants.
  • Can follow GPS and get to job sites and to material sources in a timely manner.
  • Spreads and dumps gravel efficiently; spots truck into paver and places material as directed.
  • Performs non-driving, general labor duties as needed and / or directed.
  • Provides materials' tickets to the Foreman daily so Foreman can complete their work.
  • Maintains a clean truck to include spraying down of trailers when needed and practices good housekeeping on all equipment.
  • Ensures truck is fueled each night.
  • Follows all safety rules and regulations and practices preventive safety measures; wears required PPE.
