The selected candidate will be responsible for the loading, transporting, and unloading of petroleum products at Sunoco and customer locations.
The driver must have a strong commitment to safety, environmental compliance, DOT regulations and obeying federal, state, and local laws.
Duties :
- Be able to safely load and unload a gasoline tank truck
- Be able to safely transport loaded vehicle to assigned delivery point
- Be able to prepare and document activities in accordance with Federal D.O.T. Regulations and Company Policies and Procedures
- Be able to perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle
- Must be able to work rotating or various shift schedules

- Must be able to demonstrate the safe operation of the vehicle assigned
- Must have sense of urgency, strong work ethic and positive attitude
Requirements :
- Must have High School Diploma or GED
- 18 months of Class A driving experience (preferably hauling fuel / tanker)
- Must have a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License with the following endorsements :
- Tanker
- HAZMAT
- Must possess and maintain a D.O.T. Medical Certificate and meet FMCSA Medical Standards
- Must be able and willing to obtain TWIC card (depending on location)

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A TRACTOR TRAILER DRIVER
As a Tractor Trailer Driver, you are responsible for driving a tractor-trailer, collecting and transporting raw materials from various areas, to also sometimes include over intercity routes or spanning several states.
You will be responsible for loading and unloading material as needed.
You manage your route with an onboard computer (OBC) and also keep an up-to-date backup paper log for compliance purposes.
Taking responsibility for your truck, you keep it clean and complete a pre and post trip vehicle inspection as required by DOT regulations and Company policy.
You provide exceptional professional service to all customers and follow all laws and regulations. You love that you get to hit the road for a living, while still being home daily!
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR A TRACTOR TRAILER DRIVER
- Valid Class B CDL license with an interstate designation and tanker endorsement
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Good driving record
In addition, you need the following :
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb and work at heights of 20+ feet with proper PPE
