Position Summary
Licensed staff to fulfill an exciting position combining clinical and prevention
services within one or two Baltimore City Public Elementary / Middle Schools. Many sites are positioned within new 21st Century School buildings.
Schools have established caseloads with renewable contract to provide feedback informed treatment , prevention groups, team participation, PD's, Evidenced Based Initiatives and utilize various reporting platforms.
Home and community visits required throughout full year position. Therapist will meet with Clinical Supervisor, Manager and Child Psychiatrist as part of a multi-disciplinary team and works to increase the mental health footprint across City schools.
Timely and thorough documentation mandatory.
Attention to trainings and other requirements as necessary to fulfill the grant and program requirements.
JHBMC provides supervision toward licensure, many free trainings for ceu’s, ability to expand skills and exceptional teams.
Education Requirements :
Must be licensed by the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners at LMSW level.
Exceptions
Is licensed to practice social work in another state or possesses social work qualifications in another jurisdiction comparable.
Meets requirements established by the Board in regulations and has an application pending before the Board of has successfully passed an examination or examinations prescribed by the Board pertinent to the license sought.
Preferred Experience
1 year of experience in providing clinical social work service, preferably in a mental health setting (internship may apply).
The oral and written communication skills necessary to communicate / exchange and interact effectively and professionally with hospital staff, agency health care professionals, patients and families.
Interest in working collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members. This is a fast-paced service requiring excellent case management and organization skills

General Summary of Position
Assesses, plans, and coordinates services and resources for patients and families to meet needs and / or provide for timely discharge.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Master's degree in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work. Required
Experience
1-2 years Experience in social work in a hospital, inpatient psychiatric or medical / health setting or area of specialty Preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- Valid Social Worker license in the State of Maryland. Required and

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Social worker counselor
The Child and Adolescent Day Hospital is a clinically intensive day program for children (ages 5-12) and adolescents (ages 13-18) with serious psychiatric problems.
Designed as an alternative to inpatient and residential care, it provides rapid assessment and crisis stabilization, and the structure and intensity of an inpatient program but for patients who do not require 24-hour treatment.
Services provided include Structured Therapeutic Group Treatment; Family Meetings conducted by a licensed clinical professional (LCSW-C or LCPC) and Psychiatric Evaluation and Medication Management provided by a staff psychiatrist.
Additional groups are provided by visiting artists from September thru May offering Drumming, Movement, Art and Drama therapies.
The Child and Adolescent Day Hospital operates 8 : 30 a.m. until 4 : 00 p.m. every Monday through Friday and is located on Sheppard Pratt's main campus in Towson (Baltimore County).
As a Social Worker / Counselor (LCSW-C / LCPC) you will :
- Provide a wide range of social work services to an assigned caseload of patients in support of established treatment plan goals and discharge plans
- Complete a comprehensive psychosocial assessment on each patient assigned at time of admission
- Meet individually with patients on caseload as well as with families and / or significant others to monitor and evaluate progress
- Conduct daily group psychotherapy session for assigned patients; leads a wide array of psycho-therapeutic groups in conjunction with other members of the treatment team
Requires :
- Master's degree in social work and a MD state license (LCSW-C / LCPC) at time of hire and continually throughout tenure in position.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience in a mental health setting.

About Us : The Baltimore Academy has established itself as a premier provider of Full Day Special Education services for students in grades 6 through 12.
The 12 month school program serves male and female adolescents ages 12 through 21 who are exhibiting serious emotional and behavior disorders and who are not yet able to function in less restrictive school settings.
We are looking for a Full-Time LGSW or LCSW-C, with experience working with children for our special education program.Responsibilities :
- The overall responsibility of the school Social Worker is to manage all cases of students enrolled in The Baltimore Academy and to assure provision of all social work and counseling services listed on the students, IEPs.Requirements :
- Licensed LGSW is required to provide counseling services to youth grades 6-12 in a school setting. Work also requires regular consultation with school staff.Minimum Requirements :
