ABOUT THE POSITION
The Clark County Social Services Department is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Social Worker I / II positions.
These positions perform routine to complex professional level casework in various social service programs.
Social Worker I : $26.24 - $40.65 Hourly
Social Worker II : $28.30 - $43.90 Hourly
The Social Worker I is a training underfill position, upon successful completion of the training program the successful candidate will be non-competitively promoted to Social Worker II .
This is an open and continuous recruitment, scheduling dates will vary depending on when the application was received and reviewed by Human Resources.
Human Resources reserves the right to call only the most qualified applicants to the selection process.
Some positions may be used to fill term Limited-Permanent positions. The selected candidates will be hired for a special project or duties of a limited duration and be required to sign a term of employment letter specifying condition and exact dates of employment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience :
Social Worker I - Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a field related to the work. An internship or fieldwork related to the profession is desirable or a field related to the work.
Social Worker II - In addition to the above, two years of full-time professional level casework experience in a social service agency.
Possession of an advanced degree in social work may be substituted for one of the years of experience outlined above.
Qualifying education and experience must be clearly documented in the "Education" and "Work Experience" sections of the application.

Licensing and Certification : Must possess a valid Nevada Class C Driver's License at time of appointment. Must possess a valid license as a Social Worker in the State of Nevada at time of appointment.

Refers clients to appropriate community medical, emotional, economic and social support organizations; advocates for or assists the client in obtaining such services.
Provides basic intervention and client and family counseling as required. Prepares complete and accurate case notes; writes correspondence, reports and other written materials;
may prepare statistical reports and summaries. Explains agency and program rules, regulations and procedures; assists clients in completing required forms and in gathering necessary documentation.
Confers with other departmental professional and supervisors regarding cases and scheduling to coordinate activities; participates in in-service training.
Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team.
Uses standard office equipment, including a computer, in the course of work; drives a personal or County motor vehicle to attend meetings and make site visits.

Job Summary and Qualifications
The licensed therapist position reports directly to the Clinical Director and is responsible for providing a range of psychosocial services including assessment, treatment planning, therapy (individual and group), and referrals as part of a multidisciplinary team for adolescents (ages 12-17), adults and geriatric populations with behavioral, mental and emotional needs.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES :
- Be able to handle multiple tasks pertaining to patient issues.

- A firm background in social service practice, patient aftercare and discharge planning.
EDUCATION :
A Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited college or university.
EXPERIENCE :
Minimum one (1) year experience working as a therapist in mental health preferably in an acute hospital or residential treatment setting.
CERTIFICATE / LICENSE :
Hold and maintain current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
- May be a Nevada licensed intern in either discipline working towards independent licensure. All incoming intern level positions must be supervised on site by a fully licensed clinician.
- CPI certification within 30 days of hire
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO :
Adhere to all scope of services per the Nevada state licensing board for which the staff member is licensed.

- Employ a variety of cognitive, behavioral and strength-based modalities of treatment.

- Participate as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team, supporting each unit’s treatment program, assuring the deliverance of quality and consistently excellent treatment to patients and their families.
- Participate in the development of initial and ongoing treatment plans.
- Participate in discharge planning and aftercare planning, making necessary contacts with community resources to ensure continuity of care.
- Assist with referral development and community education activities.
- Assure completion of patient outcomes on admission and discharge.
- Perform other duties and special projects as required and or assigned by Clinical Director.
