Position Summary :

Provides clinical social work services to patients in a cardiology step-down unit and ICU setting. Work includes collaborative practice with case management and treatment teams.

Responsible for psychosocial assessment including behavioral health, substance use, adjustment to illness and hospitalization, crisis intervention, family meetings, post-hospital planning, and community resource referrals.

Experience in medical setting preferred.

Education / Experience :

Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts typically acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree in social work and one year of experience in providing clinical social work, preferably in a health care setting.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Master's degree in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work. Required

Experience

1-2 years Experience in social work in a hospital, inpatient psychiatric or medical / health setting or area of specialty Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• Valid Social Worker license in the State of Maryland. Required and
• CPR / BLS certification Preferred

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Child and Adolescent Day Hospital is a clinically intensive day program for children (ages 5-12) and adolescents (ages 13-18) with serious psychiatric problems.

Designed as an alternative to inpatient and residential care, it provides rapid assessment and crisis stabilization, and the structure and intensity of an inpatient program but for patients who do not require 24-hour treatment.

Services provided include Structured Therapeutic Group Treatment; Family Meetings conducted by a licensed clinical professional (LCSW-C or LCPC) and Psychiatric Evaluation and Medication Management provided by a staff psychiatrist.

Additional groups are provided by visiting artists from September thru May offering Drumming, Movement, Art and Drama therapies.

The Child and Adolescent Day Hospital operates 8 : 30 a.m. until 4 : 00 p.m. every Monday through Friday and is located on Sheppard Pratt's main campus in Towson (Baltimore County).

As a Social Worker / Counselor (LCSW-C / LCPC) you will :

• Provide a wide range of social work services to an assigned caseload of patients in support of established treatment plan goals and discharge plans
• Complete a comprehensive psychosocial assessment on each patient assigned at time of admission
• Meet individually with patients on caseload as well as with families and / or significant others to monitor and evaluate progress
• Conduct daily group psychotherapy session for assigned patients; leads a wide array of psycho-therapeutic groups in conjunction with other members of the treatment team

Requires :

• Master's degree in social work and a MD state license (LCSW-C / LCPC) at time of hire and continually throughout tenure in position.
• Must have at least 2 years of experience in a mental health setting.

Responsibilities

About Us : The Baltimore Academy has established itself as a premier provider of Full Day Special Education services for students in grades 6 through 12.

The 12 month school program serves male and female adolescents ages 12 through 21 who are exhibiting serious emotional and behavior disorders and who are not yet able to function in less restrictive school settings.

We are looking for a Full-Time LGSW or LCSW-C, with experience working with children for our special education program.Responsibilities :

• The overall responsibility of the school Social Worker is to manage all cases of students enrolled in The Baltimore Academy and to assure provision of all social work and counseling services listed on the students, IEPs.Requirements :
• Licensed LGSW is required to provide counseling services to youth grades 6-12 in a school setting. Work also requires regular consultation with school staff.Minimum Requirements :
