Security is responsible for the safe service of alcohol, pro-actively monitoring guests, staff, and property to ensure safety and prevent possible conflicts from arising.
If faced with such conflicts, Security will follow procedures for the resolution of the conflict. In addition, this role must meet or exceed the Restaurant Security Job Standard for Ethos Hospitality Group.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure the safe service of alcohol.
- Ensure that the safety of guests, staff, and Restaurant property.
- Pre-shift meetings, shift preparation, service, and closing duties as assigned.
- Become proficient with all procedure manuals, computer system technology, and systems administration of the restaurant.
- Check weekly posted shift schedules and comply with Standards of Attendance.
- Be competent on all equipment needed to complete job tasks.
- Have a good comprehension of Restaurant regulations and rules.
- Remain alert in order to pro-actively stop a conflict before it escalates.
- Have knowledge of federal, state, and local policies for alcohol service and consumption.
- Be aware of signs that may lead to conflict or other issues.
- Understand emergency security procedures for the Restaurant.
- Use tact when alerting guests of a violation of Restaurant policies.
- Maintain effective communication with co-workers and managers.
- Follow instructions from management staff or any designee of management staff.
- Work in a team setting when required.
- Work independently when required.

Job Duties :
Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
Monitor and adjust controls that regulate building systems, such as air conditioning, furnace, or boiler.
Lock doors and gates of entrances and exits to secure buildings.
Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.
Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
Encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.

Respond to medical emergencies by administering basic first aid or by obtaining assistance from paramedics.

Security Officer
The Security Officer maintains safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and caregivers by patrolling property;
monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points permitting entry.
High school diploma or equivalent. Must possess a current and valid Ohio driver's license with no more than 4 points. Experience with CCTV operations and alarm monitoring.
Good written and verbal communication skills. Physically capable of performing all required duties, including, but not limited to : long periods of standing and prolonged walking, and physical confrontations with combative person(s).
Minimum of one year of security experience. Hospital security experience preferred. OPOTA / OPOTC certification or equivalent and / or previous hospital experience.

We are currently seeking a fulltime Evening Seciurity person for the following shift Sunday thru Saturday 8pm - 8am an to answer telephones, direct visitors, and round throughout the facility.

Qualification / Responsibilities :
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct security programs and activities. (Includes policies and procedures, job descriptions, etc.)
- Assist the Risk Manager in developing and maintaining security objectives and standards.
- Review security policies, procedures, manuals, job descriptions, etc., at least annually, and participate in making recommended changes.
- Accumulate, maintain and provide statistics as directed.
- Perform administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submitting to the administrator as required.
- Maintain records that reflect the facility’s security projections and programs.
- Make written and oral reports / recommendations to the administrator concerning security procedures.
- Assume the authority, responsibility and accountability of directing the security department.
- Assist in standardizing the methods in which work will be accomplished.
- Represent the facility at and participate in meetings as required.
- Develop methods for coordinating security services with other departments.
- Report all accidents and / or incidents involving residents and staff personnel to the director of nursing services and / or risk manager.
- Assist the Quality Assessment and Assurance Coordinator in developing and implementing plans of action to identify and correct problem areas.
- Review complaints and / or grievances filed against security services and make reports to the administrator as directed.
- Participate in planning the security budget as directed.
- Participate and assist in departmental studies and projects as assigned or that may become necessary.
- Others as deemed necessary and appropriate, or as may be directed by the administrator.
- Work with the HIPAA Compliance Officer in establishing protocols to prevent the unauthorized release or disclosure of protected resident and facility information.
