Security Officer
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Patrols assigned areas and assists guests and team members as needed.
- Examines doors, windows, gates, etc. to ensure they are secure.
- Enforces company policies as they pertain to guest and team member conduct on the premises.
- Watches for and reports irregularities such as fire hazards, unlocked doors, etc.
- Responds to all emergencies such as fire, injuries, property damage, etc.; investigates and completes reporting the same.
- During serious emergencies, may be assigned to assist in the evacuation of the facility.
- Observe departing personnel to guard against theft of company property.
- Escorts casino team members during pit drops, slot drops, jackpot verifications, fill verifications, pit fills / credits, etc.
Transports chips, currency / coin and tokens to the different requesting tables / booths.
- Accepts, logs and stores lost and found articles.
- Apprehends (if appropriate) individuals who are observed to be engaged in criminal activity and detains these individuals until they can be turned over to law enforcement authorities.
- Attends and provides testimony in court when required.
- Responds to verbal and / or physical altercations throughout the property and applies appropriate measures to resolve the situation.
- For physical altercations, employs the minimum amount of force necessary to restrain any and all involved.
- Initiates formal evictions of disorderly persons when directed by a supervisor.
- Responds to requests for medical assistance when required and renders first aid consistent with company policy and the individual officer’s skill level and medical certification.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :
High school diploma or GED required. Prefer to have at least six months security, law enforcement or military experience.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS :
Nevada Gaming Control Board registration and Alcohol Awareness card required.

Description :
Supervise, plan and schedule security activities for the Security Shift Supervisors as directed by management. Assign work to Security Officers and establish priorities.
Train, inspect and evaluate Security Officers for alertness, appearance and proper performance while on duty and correct deficiencies.
Recommend the employment, promotion and termination of security personnel. Respond to all non-routine incidents in a supervisory capacity ensuring appropriate action is taken and notifications are made.
Supervise and evaluate security reports for accuracy and completeness. Ensure all incidents are thoroughly investigated and appropriate action is take and notifications are made.
Ensure establishment, administration and evaluation of department policies and objectives, including standards of performance.
Practice teamwork, support fellow Team Members and create an energized, positive work atmosphere.
Qualifications :
Must be at least 21 years of age. Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members, and Management. Preferred four (4) years’ experience in casino security or the law enforcement field.
Preferred one (1) year experience in a supervisory position. Demonstrate the ability to plan, organize work and train Security Officers in the performance of their duties.
Demonstrate and understand management's goals and objectives. Advanced computer skills and working knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Must be able to carry a firearm and have the appropriate firearm registered with local law enforcement agency.

- Able to successfully complete registration with the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

Security Officer- Security
POSITION PURPOSE :
Perform protective and enforcement functions in a courteous and restrained manner in coping with emergencies, undesired conduct, disturbances and threats to life and property.
Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests, visitors, and associates. Monitors and assists in the enforcement of hotel policies and procedures;
regulation 6; federal, state and local laws; and pertinent sections of company labor contracts.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES :
- Foot patrol of the interior of the hotel to observe and identify potential security and safety risks or undesirable conditions.
- Evaluate situations and make logical decisions on how to proceed and direct work.
- Assists injured guests and applies first aid as necessary until professional help arrives.
- Patrols the parking lot and garage by car or foot patrol.
- Maintain order in the hotel, dealing with the welfare of guests, assisting with door lock and room safe problems, coordinate expedient response to emergency conditions such as fire, fire or safety hazards and threats to life and / or property in a calm, rational and persuasive manner.
Handle undesired conduct, violations of hotel policy and civil laws as warranted for the security and safety of hotel guests, associates, patrons and property.
- Answer security telephone and safety hotline calls and respond in a timely manner based on priority.
- Relate relevant information on house count, conventions, arrivals and departures from each shift.
- Memorize and monitor life safety system including accurate layout of entire building, locations of fire extinguishers, complete alarm reports and checks and report any pertinent information from each shift.
- Observe monitors for any unusual activity and in the case of suspicious behavior report directly, via radio, to the supervisor on duty;
report any alarms similarly.
- Assists guests by giving directions and answering questions in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Completes written reports as assigned.
- Controls and directs traffic as needed.
- Administer CPR and / or First Aid.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS :
EDUCATION
High School Diploma.
EXPERIENCE
Prior security experience in an upscale resort preferred.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES
Valid Alcohol Awareness Card, Valid Drivers License and DMV printout. CPR & First Aid Certification.
OTHER
Must be 21 years of age. Additional language ability preferred. Must be able to work overnights, nights, days, holidays, and weekends.
