Under the general direction of the Security Manager, the Security Officer protects life and property of all persons on hospital premises and patrols hospital buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft, and vandalism.
Secures, unlocks, and protects hospital buildings. Responds to security needs of the hospital personnel, patients, and visitors.
Participates in performance improvement activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Protects life and property of all persons on hospital premises. Deescalates all potentially tense situations. Immediately contacts local police prior to any physical altercations.
- Patrols hospital buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft, and vandalism. Diligently reports any suspicious activity and investigates accidents, incidents, and criminal acts.
- Secures, locks, and protects hospital buildings and grounds.
- Responds quickly and effectively to emergency and non-emergency situations.
- Assists hospital staff in de-escalation of tense situations and responds immediately to support the safety of staff.
- Ensures only authorized persons are admitted onto hospital property. Assists with inquiries made by patients, visitors, or other employees.
- Maintains current information in daily activity reports / logs, incident reports, lost and found logs, etc.
- Serves as a member of the emergency response team and responds to codes appropriately.
- Reports all safety and fire hazards, investigates incidents of unusual circumstances, and reports all incidents to supervisor.
- Supports all fire / life safety / emergency management drills and education initiatives.
- Documents incident reports in an accurate and timely manner. Follows appropriate investigative procedures.
- Must be able to respond quickly to all areas of the hospital.
- Successfully completes hospital and department specific orientation and ongoing mandatory education requirements in a timely manner.
- Manage access control at various entrances by ensuring all staff, patients, visitors, and vendors are authorized to gain entry for business / service purposes.
- Assists with the operation of security systems : CCTV, access control, and incident reporting.
- Assists in maintaining regulatory requirements, including state and federal regulations.
- Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
- Maintains a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with physicians, staff, and vendors.
- Should an emergency situation arise (weather related or other emergency related events), senior management may require security staff to remain at the hospital in order to ensure the well-being of our patients is uncompromised and hospital operations are uninterrupted.
While these situations are unusual and at times unpredictable, our security staff should be prepared to remain on site.
- Remains keenly alert at all times, alerting all employees, patients, and others to possible threats or situations requiring immediate attention.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS :
- Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures / protocols preferred.â€
- Ability to obtain state-required security officer credentials, as needed.
- Ability to perform duties independently.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Basic computer knowledge and skills required. Experience with Microsoft Office preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to function calmly and competently in high stress situations.
- Ability to display mental and emotional stamina in situations involving death, multiple patients, family members, etc.
- Ability to be honest, alert, and well-disciplined.
- Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds.
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Participate in performance improvement activities.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / LICENSURE / TECHNICAL / OTHER :
- Education : High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Experience : Two to five (2-5) years of experience in the field of law enforcement, security operations, or a related field is required.
Experience in a health care setting is preferred.
- Certification / Licensure : A current Basic Life Support (CPR) American Red Cross or American Heart Association Provider certification or a CPI certification is preferred.
- Software / Hardware :
- Other : Must be able to successfully clear a background check, including a criminal search. Use or possession of a firearm and / or other weapons is prohibited.

Security Guard
Overview
Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Security (Site Supervisor) and Director of Security, this position is responsible for maintaining the security and safety of people and property by enforcing established rules and regulations.
Security Officers are employees of CastleGuard. Accordingly, they are accountable to CastleGuard for all human resources and personnel-related issues.
On operational matters security officers are accountable to the Assistant Director of Security and Director of Security.
Responsibilities
May include some or all of the following as applicable)
Maintain access control at gatehouse entry, confirm identification of either guest or resident and ask for permission from authorized party (resident / management) for access of person at gate.
As necessary, check computer file. Maintain records of entry by process servers, emergency vehicles, police units, municipal, county, state or federal vehicles and the purpose of their entry.
Watch pedestrian traffic and monitor cameras as gate operations allow. Handle gate traffic delays in accord with proscribed procedures.
- Possess knowledge of site interior so as to be able to direct guests, contractors and emergency vehicles how to get from place to place within premises.
- As applicable, perform pedestrian or vehicle patrol of assigned area. Said patrol will include but not be limited to : checking of doors and windows to proscribed locations, checking for debris, trash, damage, suspicious persons or vehicles, etc.
Patrols may also involve the use of a guard tour device in which case locations of tour points would be indicated to officer and require they be hit a pre-determined number of times each shift.
- Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills. Duties include the ability to communicate using clear and appropriate communication skills in formal and informal settings such as mediating disputes, advising of processes and rules, and enforcing policies and procedures while being polite but firm in all matters of communication.
- Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
- Respond to general alarms, power outages, broken water / power lines and security breaches of any kind in accordance with established post orders;
contact police or fire department in case of emergency, such as fire, storm, or crime.
- Maintain radio / telephone communications in a professional manner.
- Observe suspicious persons, assess intentions, and take action as appropriate including contacting local law enforcement as necessary.
At no time is an officer to engage anyone in a physical manner except when the officer’s personal well being is directly threatened.
- Observe, recall, and distinguish characteristics of persons, suspects, automobiles, location, property, etc. to include colors, shapes, sizes, height, weight, abnormalities, changes or differences since last observed, and other distinguishing characteristics and to be able to communicate this in a verbal and written format.
- Able to maintain composure and control when confronted with potentially hostile situations.

Qualifications
Education / Training / Certifications / Licenses :
- High school diploma or equivalency required.
- Security Officer D license from the State of Florida.
- A valid Florida driver’s license and a driving record in good standing.
Experience / Knowledge / Skills :
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. These requirements are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.

5i is in search of a qualified Network Security Engineer, who enjoys security work and possesses expertise (depth and breadth) knowledge in the security space.
The NSE will be responsible for pre-sales support and solutions architecture. They will implement their design / solution or direct an implementation team.
