Responsibilities

What do our Seasonal Mosquito Technicians do?

Our Mosquito Technicians are responsible for performing mosquito surveillance, and control fieldwork, which is a part of an integrated mosquito management program.

The Mosquito Tecnicians also provide a quality, and professional service to our customers by delivering service with courtesy, safety, and dependability, to ensure each customer has a positive experience.

Functions include, but are not limited to the following :

  • Routinely inspect control zones for potential mosquito breeding habitat and the presence of mosquito larvae by visual inspection and dipping
  • Assess each inspection site and utilize the appropriate control techniques, such as : no action, source reduction, biological control, public education and chemical control (including the application of larvicides at the labeled application rates)
  • Accurately record all findings and control activities on the appropriate log sheet and GPS unit, and enter data into VDCI’s database as required by the contract
  • Be thoroughly familiar with all applicable chemical labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and handle / apply all chemicals according to label specifications
  • Obey all traffic laws
  • Report all incidents or accidents to contract supervisor immediately
  • Know and follow proper safety and spill procedures at all times, and use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) regularly
  • Inspect private and / or public property for the presence of mosquito adults / larvae / breeding habitat when service requests are received
  • Take appropriate control action (adulticide / larvicide / manipulate habitat) when mosquitoes are found, and accurately record all data on proper log sheet and GPS unit, and enter data into VDCI’s database during service request inspections
  • Communicate respectfully, honestly, and knowledgeably to residents at all times during service request inspections, routine larvicide activities, or during any other public relations activities
  • Know and follow the proper and safe operations of all equipment used, including but not limited to : automobiles, ATVs, larvicide application equipment (Backpack applicators, B&G sprayers, squirt bottles, ), adulticide application equipment (hand-foggers, backpack foggers, truck foggers, etc.

dippers and other surveillance equipment, safety equipment (respirators, face shields, etc.)

  • Fill trucks / sprayers with gasoline as needed
  • Fill sprayers and any other application equipment with the proper pesticides as needed and follow all required safety precautions
  • Wash trucks and clean equipment as required by the Contract Supervisor
  • Mix pesticides & diluents accurately as needed, and follow all required safety precautions
  • Maintain a clean, organized workplace and report safety hazards to the contract supervisor immediately
  • Acquire and maintain all required licenses, certifications, , as required by the law and VDCI
  • Never allow a passenger, other than another VDCI employee, to ride in a VDCI truck at any time
  • Fully support, enforce, promote and implement the company’s safety policies and programs
  • React to change promptly and effectively, and handle other essential tasks as assigned.

What do you need?

  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Must Obtain state pesticide applicator licensing (training provided)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain licenses / certificates as required by federal, state and local regulations
  • Must pass pre-employment background screen
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and pass motor vehicle record search

Base pay range : $15 - $19 / hour

Maintain good customer relations and support the Plant Manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

1. Take daily counts of inventory

2. Answer customer calls

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY :

No lead or supervisory duties.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

High school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to read, write and calculate basic math. Minimum three months of retail experience.

Must be able to operate cash register and use calculator (not by touch).

WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Must be able to bend, lift and carry objects to stock shelves and on occasion move and cut block ice.

Non-air conditioned work area with one open side exposed to temporary changes going in and out of cooler and vault. Hazards consists of working in unsecured area, slippery floors, temperature changes, heavy weights 300 lb block ice and use of saw to cut ice.

ROLE SUMMARY

A CorePower Yoga (CPY) Lead Instructor delivers an extraordinary experience through curating a welcoming environment for all and supporting growth for their students and peers.

They guide students through CPY aligned classes, facilitate Teacher Trainings, and host continuing education and feedback sessions for peer teachers.

The Lead Instructor is committed to expanding the CPY community and has a heart to lead, develop, and coach others to their fullest potential.

This individual commits to weekly teaching, facilitation, and mentorship support of Teacher Training enrollees and peers.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Provide yoga instruction by teaching CorePower Yoga classes, adhering to CPY yoga quality standards
  • Actively teach multiple formats as an instructor, 4-6 regularly scheduled classes weekly
  • Coordinate and lead facilitation for hybrid teacher training sessions. Participate in facilitation, coaching, and student mentorship for virtual teacher training sessions as needed
  • Lead in-market continuing education workshops and special classes in partnership with Yoga and Studio leadership teams
  • Support hybrid auditions & intensives per the needs of the market
  • Partner with Senior Yoga Trainers and studio leadership on coaching in-studio yoga quality and teacher growth
  • Act as a leader, provide support and guidance to students and studio teams
  • Work cross functionally and communicate efficiently with the District Manager, Yoga Team, Director of Yoga Operations, and virtual Teacher Training Team as needed

EDUCATION, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certificate of completion from a Yoga Alliance certified 200-hour teacher training program required, 300-hour or 500-hour preferred
  • Preferred 2+ years of teaching experience with CPY
  • Current CPR / AED certification required
  • Must be available to work 24-32 hours weekly, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Professionalism and strong interpersonal skills
  • Organized and able to work independently with little supervision
  • Ability to lead students in physical activity for a maximum 1.5 hours at a time
  • Ability to withstand exposure to heated classroom for the duration of class
  • Proficiency in computer applications
