Position Description :

Under general supervision, fulfills the Authoritys staffing needs by strategically sourcing job postings, coordinating and conducting interviews, evaluating applicants, and making hiring recommendations to hiring managers;

executes retention programs and processes personnel related transactions; and performs other related duties.

  • Determine appropriate sourcing methods including print ads, Internet, employment agencies, colleges, recruitment agencies, job fair, etc.;
  • Screens applicants for assigned job postings; coordinates the scheduling of interviews among hiring panel; assertively guides the interview process to ensure integrity throughout;
  • Provides hiring recommendation based on interview discovery and suitability for position;

Complies with and ensures other Authority employees compiles with all applicable federal, state and local fair employment practices, laws and regulations, including the Civil Rights Act of 1964 Title VII, Age in Employment Discrimination Act, Americans with Disability Act, etc.

  • as well as Personnel Policies and applicable sections of the Union Agreements;
  • Maintains contact with potential candidates throughout process;
  • Enters applicant information into the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) accurately and timely; initiates and executes entire hiring process from need identification through hire;
  • Conducts new hire orientation process; presents information on organizational structure, culture, and policies; facilitates the complete and accurate completion of all new-hire paperwork and retention in appropriate location;
  • Coordinates alternative staffing methods with Unions where partnering agreements exist;
  • Processes personnel related transactions in the HRIS, including, but not limited to, promotions, demotions, and transfers;
  • Prepares reports on employment activities and task progress;
  • Communicates and disseminates information to management and staff on operational and organizational policy and procedures related to the employment process;
  • Stays abreast of new trends and innovations in the fields of recruitment, retention, and employment;

Maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues and PHA information; AND

Performs related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Experience Required :

Experience Preferred :

Bachelors degree in human resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration or a related field; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Previous recruiting experience of one to three is required.
