The Quality Assurance Field Technician reports to the designated Kitchell MEP Manager & Kitchell QA Project Manager. The QA Field Technician is responsible for ensuring technical field compliance while maintaining customer service at the highest possible level within the Quality Assurance role on assigned projects.

Requirements

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Receives direction only from the designated person, representing the Kitchell Quality Assurance Director, Kitchell MEP Manager & Kitchell QA Project.
  • Conducts technical field reviews and / or inspections on the projects assigned, as directed, on a daily basis.
  • Prepares Draft reports at time of inspection conclusion to leave with project team.
  • Prepares formal daily technical field reports on all projects inspected on the Kitchell QA Mobile platform as required and within the prescribed guidelines and turn-around times.
  • Prepares accurate and timely time sheets reflecting work performed.
  • Provides constant feedback to Kitchell Quality Assurance for continuous measurable improvement.
  • Attends project / job site meetings for the purpose of : Communicating and receiving direction from Kitchell QA personnelCommunicating with Kitchell Field team personnelAnswering field questions New project start-ups Orientations
  • Coordinates operations closely and daily with the designated person, representing the Director, Kitchell QA, Kitchell MEP Manager & Kitchell QA PM.
  • Monitors and assists the QA PM in planning and scheduling projects and reviews those schedules weekly for changes and / or missed visits.
  • Monitors the progress of the projects to assure Correction is taken to rectify a known nonconformance and monitors for reporting Corrective Action is taken to prevent recurrence of said nonconformance.
  • Assist in any assigned document reviews or general Quality Assurance constructability reviews.

Education and Experience :

College degree in construction Management or architecture, or related field is required, or 10 years of experience in profession / industry.

Equivalent experience as a Construction Superintendent, with appropriate certifications specific to the job assignment.

High School Diploma.

Licenses and Certifications

  • A valid driver’s license with no DWI tickets.
  • Valid Motor Vehicle Record with no restrictions or suspensions.
  • OSHA 30 Certification.

Knowledge and Skills

Advanced computer skills required, including MS Office and CAD / BIM literacy, Procore.

Work Environment

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently inspects the project and may be exposed to ongoing construction and various weather conditions, while wearing personal protective equipment.
  • The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud.
  • This position is performed in outside weather conditions.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position.

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the position is very active and the employee is frequently standing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, digging, trenching and climbing throughout day.
  • The employee must frequently lift and / or move items up to 50 pounds.
