What We Do

Epic Games is looking to significantly expand its internal full-time Quality Assurance team. We are looking for serious QA professionals with wide ranging skills and experience who want to work embedded on a development team. Whether you have very limited QA experience or you have 15 years or more, we have a position for you.

What You'll Do

As a member of the Unreal Engine QA team, you’ll be working on the world’s most open and advanced real-time 3D creation tool that gives creators the freedom and control to deliver cutting-edge entertainment, compelling visualizations, and immersive virtual worlds. This individual is responsible for regular communication and coordination with the development team and QA staff, as well as identifying and implementing a combination of manual and automated tests or processes wherever needed.

In this role, you will

  • Work with product owners, developers, and QA Management to define and identify requirements, anticipate risks, and plan testing coverage for upcoming and existing features.
  • Build test strategies and test plans to cover assigned features and help define acceptance criteria in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of technical testing scenarios while coordinating automated, functional, qualitative, and performance test efforts.
  • Design, develop and maintain automated tests while identifying product and automation framework requirements needed to improve the ability to create enhanced automation coverage  
  • Analyze and troubleshoot reported defects and internal issues.
  • Report and track for data quality and use that data to drive conversations around product quality and development health.

What we're looking for

  • 2+ years of software testing experience in a fast paced environment with the ability to switch between multiple projects
  • Solid understanding of test methodologies, including automation, functional, qualitative, and performance against consistently iterative development
  • Strong Programming or scripting skills languages such as C++/C#/Python/Javascript 
  • Experience running, designing and maintaining automated tests within one or more established automation frameworks
  • Problem solving experience especially in technical environments utilizing debugging tools and IDEs (Visual Studio, XCode, etc.) to investigate and report on results
  • Experience creating test plans in accordance to design requirements/expectations
  • Experience testing across multiple platforms such as PC, Mac, Mobile, and Consoles
  • Ability to learn, comprehend, and apply new concepts, techniques, and procedures in a fast paced environment
  • Technical experience with one or more game engines (Unreal Engine preferred)

We’re looking for an experienced QA Manager for Fortnite! In this role you will be developing and guiding the quality strategy for seasonal Fortnite Battle Royale, partnering with other discipline leads, and innovating and improving our seasonal quality processes to deliver an epic experience for our players. What we're looking for

  • 7+ years of QA experience, with at least 4 years in a leadership/management level.
  • Proven capability in leading and managing large teams of QA professionals, both Individual Contributors and Leads, directly embedded with the rest of the development team.
  • Strong understanding of the importance of multiple testing types, including verification and validation testing, usability testing, security testing, performance testing, etc.
  • Proactive study of advanced training in QA methodology and principles.
  • Expert-level understanding of KPIs and Metrics that inform quality in products, people, and processes.
  • Proven ability to take ownership over large-scale process improvements, working with other QA and with other disciplines to plan, implement, and drive adoption.

The Fortnite Battle Royale Engagement team is responsible for creating an engaging experience through the implementation of battle pass, quests across storyline, seasonal events, special IP collaborations, cosmetics and much more. The role will cover quality of the BattlePass system, quest implementation, their reward distribution, and giving qualitative feedback to help find the fun in Fortnite. This role will also focus on working directly with designers and production to identify and report risk for your assigned features, ensure adequate coverage, work with internal and external test teams to execute on your test plans, and deliver a great player experience.

To be set up for success, the person in this role should have experience with end-to-end feature ownership and risk assessment while being flexible in a fast-paced environment.

In this role, you will

  • Work with product owners, developers and QA management to define acceptance criteria, identify risks, and plan testing coverage for upcoming quests and quest features.
  • Build test approaches and test plans in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Conduct standard functional and qualitative testing on quests and quest-related assets in game and in engine.
  • Plan and conduct defect exploration and verification of quests and quest assets, including UI and IP requirements.
  • Help investigate and troubleshoot through complex systems, including grey/whitebox.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot reported defects, internal issues within the product, and escalate quality issues.
  • Able to generate analysis of outstanding defect load and recommend new areas of testing, as well areas to prioritize fixes.
  • Proactively manage incoming defects and work autonomously on highest value tasks, be it test writing or test execution.

What we're looking for

  • 3+ YOE in testing.
  • 2+ years in Quality Assurance.
  • Experience working embedded in SDLC.
  • Proven expertise in creating end-to-end test plans of a feature, identifying gaps in test coverage and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to prioritize and work independently, as well as in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
