Senior Intelligence & Security Policy Specialist, AWS Security

Full-time
Ready to take on challenges at the leading edge of geopolitics and technology, and shape the future of security? Our team does this every day. We are looking for an adaptable and creative security professional with expertise in some combination of geopolitical risk, intelligence analysis, risk management, and/or policy development and advice to join us.

Experience in cloud computing concepts, the cyber-physical security nexus, or the geopolitics and security dynamics of Sub-Saharan Africa or Europe is a plus for this role. However, demonstration of self-guided learning with practical application in complex issue areas is key to success in this role.

This unique role within the security space combines the functions of strategic intelligence analyst, risk manager, and policy advisor. Our team leads internal efforts to understand, manage, and reduce risk to our cloud and physical infrastructure from the earliest stages of development. You’ll work independently, and with customers and stakeholders on interesting and complex issues to solve problems on a global scale. You’ll provide deep analytic insights on a wide range of issues and develop innovative strategies to secure the cloud, supporting infrastructure, and other assets as AWS expands to new environments. At times your contributions will be behind the scenes; other times they will be high visibility within the company. In all cases your work will have both immediate and longer-term impacts on the security of the cloud and the trust of our customers.

Ideal candidates will have consistently demonstrated the ability to conduct rigorous research and analysis on a variety of geopolitical and security issues; produce written analytic products that effectively support positive security outcomes; and communicate efficiently (both in writing and verbally) on complex topics, risks, and opportunities to mixed audiences (up to senior executive levels).

Though this is a non-technical role, you’ll grow your familiarity and acquire experience in a variety of cloud and related technical knowledge areas. While this is an individual contributor role, you’ll lead projects that cross multiple teams and business functions and will need to draw on various types of management skills. This role requires a collaborative, curious, self-aware individual that will lean in when faced with ambiguity and high judgment situations.
