Security Program Manager, Data Center Security

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Infrastructure Operations Security is seeking a highly talented and motivated Security Program Manager to join our team. AWS is the leading cloud provider, providing virtualized infrastructure, storage, networking, messaging, and many other services to customers all over the world to include the U.S. Intelligence Community. The role is responsible for overseeing physical security design and the installation of security features and systems including Access Control, Intrusion Detection, Camera Surveillance, Passive and Active Barriers, and other security features and capabilities consistent with AWS security standards and contractual requirements. This role will perform security program management in support of new data centers, data center expansions, and special security programs and projects.

You will work directly with the Cluster Security Managers (CSMs), Regional Security Managers (RSMs), Security Site Leads, the Operations Team and other customers, both internal and external, to integrate business and operations requirements into physical security design and implementation. Your work will include supporting the design and deployment of physical security packages and security program enhancements for AWS data centers. Additionally, you will author security design, Concept of Operations (CONOPS), and other security documents for submittal to the U.S. Government.

The ideal candidate for the role will be willing and able to work autonomously with minimal guidance or supervision, to build relationships across peer teams, stakeholders, and partner organizations, at all levels, and to be able to influence cooperation without authority in order to achieve program and project progress and completion. You will have an in-depth knowledge of security practices and technology, be innovative, highly organized and know how to deliver results on time and on budget. You are able to solve ambiguous problems, proactively identify existing or imminent security vulnerabilities, and apply mitigation strategies to reduce overall risk. You may be asked to use your knowledge to assess processes, program plans, and operations requirements to find security solutions or enhancements for routine and unique security requirements. The role will involve some travel for fact finding, project milestones, and hand-off of completed projects to local security operations teams.

This position can sit in New Albany, Dublin, or Hilliard Ohio.

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and currently possess and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance.

Key job responsibilities
• Lead physical security design and construction for new data centers, data center expansions and special projects.
• Preparation of physical security project lifecycle management including bid packages, specifications, drawings, code compliance, vendor management, budget, change orders, and close-out documentation.
• Manage vendor on-boarding, RFP, RFQ, bid, contracting, contract execution, QA/QC, and support processes.
• Effectively and accurately manage multi-million dollar budgets for security projects. Own and track the finance and budgeting process for security programs and projects.
• Representative for physical security operations team acceptance, sign-off, and operational readiness validation in conjunction with other AWS teams.
• Reporting performance metrics such as physical security system installation vendor service delivery performance, actual spend vs. budget variance, cost reduction goal attainment, post installation defect rates, physical security program analysis, etc.
• Collaborate across teams to drive global, regional, and local security initiatives.
• Serves as an on-call emergency support to security operations teams and assists in responding to alarms or security incidents, conducting investigations, handing off relevant findings or closing the event by executing appropriate reporting requirements.
• Support Cluster Security Managers by providing physical security analysis and recommend program enhancements to maximize security of assigned locations.

Physical Security / Industry Specialist

The AWS Security, Security Design and Accreditation group is looking for an Industry Specialist (IS) to join our design and accreditation team. As an IS you will manage sensitive and critical US Intelligence Community (USIC) and DoD security relevant facility designs, builds, and expansions supporting cloud technologies and activities.

This position is based in Columbus, OH and will join a team of experienced Industry Specialists in managing the AWS National Industrial Security Program (NISP). SDA is responsible for creating, implementing, and overseeing AWS’ NISP.

The team works closely with US Government (USG) customers who are migrating national security workloads into the AWS cloud by adopting cloud infrastructure and cloud service platforms. With AWS, our customers can requisition compute, storage, and numerous additional cloud services, gaining access to a suite of elastic IT infrastructure services critical to maintaining their missions and operational workloads. Our customers have the flexibility to choose between a variety of development platforms or programming models suited to addressing their unique challenges.

Key job responsibilities
As an Industry Specialist with the SDA, you will own the security-relevant design of our ICD 705 and NISPOM facility builds and expansions. This includes:
• interpreting and communicating physical and technical security requirements, best practices, and Accreditation Official (AO) variances;
• participating in design reviews and the approval process;
• implementing security of the construction site; inspecting and cataloging key stages of each build as prescribed in the CSP or AO guidelines;
• ensuring that these secure areas are protected with Intrusion Detection and Access Control system by developing ACS/IDS design and procurement and that construction meets current TEMPEST requirements for the protection of National Security Information, accredited facilities, and critical cloud infrastructure from insider and external threats.
