Full-time

The Engineering Project Manager-Project Services will be responsible for supporting the Project Services team with a focus on implementing Supply Chain Solutions across the NFI network.

A thorough understanding of warehouse storage design and rack solutions, permitting, slotting and zoning design, and implementation of automation initiatives is required.

Should have experience in FAT / SAT / UAT, and commissioning of automation equipment. Provides regular and proactive communication to customers and NFI leadership.

The successful candidate will possess excellent technical and communication skills with demonstrated interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Strong project management skills to manage multiple projects with on-time delivery of engineering deliverables (Layout validation to standards, MHE validation, HPS Permitting, Slotting / Zoning)
  • Communication skills to relay engineering updates and escalations to the project team
  • Warehouse design skills to understand operations design and detail out into actual operation flows and layouts
  • Work with equipment vendors and establish testing protocols for FAT, SAT, and UAT.
  • Collects data and performs statistical analysis
  • Maps and documents processes
  • Independently identifies process gaps; recommends and implements process improvement
  • Applies standard engineering methodologies and tools to design distribution and / or transportation solutions
  • Conducts Supply Chain analyses and recommends alternative strategies
  • Effectively interacts with customers, sales, operations, and Project Management to create value propositions
  • Manages multiple projects of small and medium size
  • Leads, coaches, and mentors other engineers

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Supply Chain, or other quantitative field of study
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in any of the following areas; distribution center management, materials handling, industrial engineering, decision support systems, and technology
  • PMI Certifications (PMP, CAPM) are a plus
  • Experience in Warehouse Automation (AGV’s, AMR’s, GTP Tech, High-Level Sortation, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of warehousing solutions and operations
  • Data management and manipulation skills
  • Programming skills to manipulate large data-sets
  • AutoCAD and Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Inventory Analysis tools
  • Strong financial conceptual skills
  • Strong computer proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Demonstrated data manipulation skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience preparing and presenting oral and written presentations to management and clients

Position Overview

As a Project Manager, Renewable Project Management, you will provide technical guidance to business development efforts from development through construction for renewable energy projects, particularly for onshore wind projects in Quebec.

You will be responsible for managing projects from advanced development through construction to achieve commercial operation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor construction activities for multiple project sites.
  • Prepare, negotiate and manage equipment, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts.
  • Manage construction permitting activities and ensure site construction activities comply. Also ensure construction adheres to established protocols and all contractual requirements.
  • Generate project schedules and evaluate alternate scenarios.
