Responsibilities

  • Provides overall contract administration, technical expertise, and support to a medium size construction project.
  • Develops and implements the project safety plan and leads by example for health and safety practices and procedures.
  • Ensures the project is constructed as per design, budget, resources, quality, and schedule.
  • Understands client drivers and offers value engineering proposals for functionality, cost, and schedule benefit.
  • Manages project performance and providing performance status reports for safety, cost forecast, and schedule.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • 8 10 years of progressive construction experience with leadership and mentoring preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing a strong safety culture by application of health, safety, and environment principles and legislation.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction industry including building materials, construction specifications, methods and procedures, construction law and building codes, and safety and quality management practices.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills including the ability to manage project budgets and schedules.
  • Ability to identify and manage risk and opportunities on construction projects.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, project management and scheduling software, with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.

Duties, Responsibilities & Other

This Project Manager role will support our structures group in Florida. This person will manage bridge design projects and be responsible for bridge design, plan production, QA / QC, field inspections and managing the project team.

Skills, Duties & Responsibilities

Multi-tasker with ability to perform bridge and miscellaneous transportation structures design and development of construction drawings for concrete, wood, and steel bridge structures.

Must be able to develop own construction plans using AutoCAD and / or MicroStation. Will lead junior staff and work with other disciplines.

Able to use Microsoft Office suite and Bluebeam / Adobe. Experience with Autodesk Revit and RISA is preferred.

  • Perform post-design services including field inspections during construction.
  • Provide mentoring, technical development, and general oversight of junior staff.
  • QA / QC calculations, drawings, reports, and other documentation produced by others to ensure accuracy and code compliance.
  • Plan workload, track and meet budgets for structural tasks / projects.
  • Maintain existing client relationships.
  • Good problem solving, communication, and technical writing skills are required. A solid background of reliability, commitment to task and project completion and success is required.

Preferred Experience & Degrees / Licenses

  • Structural Engineer with at least 5 years of experience (10 years preferred) using bridge / structural design software, AutoCAD and / or MicroStation.
  • Must have field experience and ability to work with clients, contractors, and other disciplines.
  • Experience working on all phases of design as well as provided construction administration / bid phase services.

Must have a Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited school. Professional Engineering (PE) license is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 - 12 years of professional experience.
  • Appropriate professional certification preferred.
