What you’ll do :

  • Provide project management coordination and support for large and complex wind, solar, and storage projects during the pre-construction phase of the project.
  • Responsible for the supporting request for proposal (RFP) process for engineering, procurement and construction services.
  • Responsible for supporting contracting negotiation process.
  • Support pre-construction activity including site studies, surveys, preliminary engineering, and estimating.
  • Support internal project capital expenditure approval processes to secure budget for Project Delivery scope.
  • Coordinate and support internal stakeholders including development, commercial, and origination teams with information requests and modeling efforts.
  • Coordinate and manage key project stakeholders including Balance of Plant (BOP) Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractor.
  • Manage equipment procurement as related to the Production Tax Credit (PTC) and Investment Tax Credit (ITC).
  • Participate in the negotiation of key project contracts including Major Equipment Supply Agreements and BOP-EPC Agreement.
  • Work with the Manager of Pre-Construction and other project stakeholders to ensure project schedules and costs are managed and tracking to plan.
  • Assess project risk and maintain project Risk Register during preconstruction phase.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all parties involved in the development of the wind project.

What you bring :

  • 4-year degree in a related field or equivalent combination of technical training.
  • Combined 5 years of project management (preferably in utility scale renewable energy) and / or heavy construction management experience.
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience with various project & construction management software tools, e.g., Procore.
  • Demonstrated ability to be organized and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong Microsoft Software Applications skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project).

  • Assist Contracts Manager with subcontract procurement including developing SOW and evaluating bids.
  • Supervise subcontractors, including drillers, geophysical surveyors, excavation service providers, laboratories, land surveyors, etc.
  • Prepare field reports, and after-action reports.
  • Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders.
  • Be the local contact for business development, proposal writing, and presentations for government clients.
  • Prepare and ensure compliance with contract for project planning documents including work plans for CERCLA and RCRA work, mining and other remediation projects.
  • Conduct senior final technical reviews on deliverables, proposals, etc.
  • Develop and maintain monthly project summary reports - internal and external.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly status reports to the client.
  • Coordinate with internal and external clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. Degree in Civil / Environmental Engineering, Geology, or related field
  • 10 years related experience working with DoD (preferably USACE, AFCEC, NAVFAC) and other federal clients
  • Technical expertise in sampling, investigation, and remediation of all media
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local environmental regulations
  • Ability to gather and analyze data, reason logically and creatively, draw conclusions, and make appropriate recommendations
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, delegate, and work well under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Ability to be flexible and course-correct quickly
  • Excellent written, oral, and computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Ability to obtain base passes and / or security clearance as required
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER with current 8-hour refresher, and supervisor training
  • Must have a valid U.S. driver's license, a clean driving record, and be willing to travel as needed
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug-screen and background check
  • Ability to obtain security clearance as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • USACE Construction Quality Management
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Knowledge / experience with PFOS / PFOA sampling
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain
  • 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety

Working Conditions
